    Hey yall,

Sorry if this post looks lazy or maybe repetitive but I can't find many links on helpful installation tips for my truck.

    I have a 2006 Tacoma 2WD 2.7L engine with 5 speed manual transmission.

Today for example, I wanted to find links or videos (mostly on YouTube) about differential and manual transmission jobs but I could only find links on V6, 4x4, TRD, Pre-Runner trucks. Those trucks have a completely different differential and trans system than mine. Also, mine is a 5 lug truck and I mostly find videos or links of trucks with 6 lugs.
My truck is the basic (smallest) one and it seems like most people either don't have my type of truck or don't care enough to put helpful links about it because most stuff I find is for the other type of trucks. I feel like my truck type is a minority among the second gen tacos ha!

Basically, can someone guide me to the correct sites or shoot me specific links to my type of truck group so I don't have to go crazy looking for them because I can't find them.

    Thanks. I'll appreciate any info.

The transmission is the same in the 5 lug 5 speeds as the 6 lug 5 speeds. Im running a 5 lug R155 in my 6 lug prerunner. So any info on the prerunner 5 speed manual trans should be applicable to your truck as well

Thanks for that info but are there any specific links/sites for the 2nd generation 2WD Base Manual Trans Tacomas ?? Like I said, most posts are about Pre-Runner, TRD, and 4x4.

Are there not many Base 2WD Manual Tacos out there? Am I doomed or blessed? Ha!

You are correct, at least in terms of enthusiasts in a forum like this. Lots of them out there, as they were popular as fleet service vehicles.

Our trucks are quite simple, easier to maintain and cheaper to repair than the 6 lug versions. So the key here isn't what you can YouTube, the key is does the truck serve your needs? Mine does everything I want it to. Maybe a little more.

We do have a full forum dedicated to 5 lugs you might find useful. https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/5-lug.114/

Also, if you post specific questions about what you are looking for assistance with odds are high someone will be able to help.
