How long has it been since you installed the lift? Some settling of the suspension may occur eventually, but it all depends on the spring rate of your coils, the exact kit & components you installed, etc. You’ll figure out what works for you and your truck. Remember, this is just the beginning. Just keep an eye on what the truck is doing adjust your suspension mods accordingly.

Nice. After all the information about the lift comes out over multiple posts.....then the accusatory diatribe emerges.

Gotta follow the information as it is known. Replies can only be based on what has been posted. Otherwise, replies are just assuming and conjecture.

Welcome. Enjoy your 4d. Suggest joining a vehicle specific forum.

I don't drive a "4d" anymore, I have a Cement 2019 Tacoma TRD OR with a 3.5" full suspension lift (non-spacer), very similar to the RC lift this kid is running and have had ZERO issues with abnormal CV wear. I'm also running 285/75R16 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W on 16X8 KMC Summits. I just haven't updated my vehicle information. The only person to give sound advice so far on this thread is @Llama_Taco23. @ZebraScissors there has never been a full consensus on the information you have given. Just like some say, "You must do the ECGS bushing or your truck will explode". The only 100% consensus on any of these forums is anything above 2.5" "requires an upgraded pair of UCAs to keep suspension components close to factory geometry". I have seen 100s of people with RC's 3.5" full coilover lift give fantastic reviews even in the longterm, including several youtubers. Toytec has a full 3" suspension system they offer among others. I have also seen about the same number of naysayers, so which is it? Where are these retailers that say, "Never lift a Tacoma over 2.5!"? I haven't seen them after my months of research. They say if you want to go big, just do it right, lol.

Pics of this bad ass truck and inner CV’s would be great. This is my first lifted vehicle and I’m still learning.

    Thanks

I will supply, lol... On Thursday that is, lol. My Taco is in the paint shop until then getting a huge dent fixed and re-sprayed thanks to a Jeep backing into my driver's door on the Toyota lot I bought the truck from while discussing doing the ECGs bushing replacement. Until then, here is my "before-lift" Taco and some pictures of my jacked up door I should have never had to re-spray. Once it's out of the shop, I'll take some pictures of the CVs and the overall aesthetic for y'all.

Is there just no fix for CV's while having a 3.5 inch lift? if the axels are sitting at stock geometry, what EXACTLY is the issue?

With a 3.5 inch lift your cv joints cannot be at stock geometry. Not unless you dropped the diff.

I really appreciate you coming on here and clearing the air. I was sitting here scared shitless that I had messed up my truck after doing my own research on lift kits and the DOs and DONTs. I asked around the truck community in my town as well as coming to TW for some advice. I realized very soon that I had messed up by letting people know that I did not pay for the truck myself. However, I have worked all summer for all the things that I have put on my truck. I have worked as a general service tech for a while now, and I don't appreciate being talked to like I'm some kid who hasn't worked a day in his life. I know damn well I come home dirtier from work than @ZebraScissors comes back from 'wheeling'. The only thing I am missing as of right now is the carrier bearing drop, which is coming very soon. The slander is unprofessional for so-called adults and I find it quite ironic that some grown ass men can't keep it civil when someone, potentially less knowledgable, asks for help.

I am coming up on just around 2 weeks. The truck will be in the shop today for the button up and inspection on a lift. Thank you for the input.

If a lift is designed to bring driveline components and suspension components back to or very close to factory geometry specifications, there is no problem. Drop brackets for differentials and diff drop spacers (which you have) function in the same manner and help to provide those needed corrections. Life is good, brother! I've lifted Chevys, I've lifted Fords, and I've now lifted a Toyota. There is nothing special about the Tacoma's suspension that makes the Tacoma any harder to lift than any other modern American truck. They're almost all IFS with leaf spring rears and the lifting methods are all the exact same premise.

What…and LOL. This thread has become absolutely hilarious, people tried to help and then questions were asked. What does your age or how the vehicle was paid for have to do with anything regarding the lift or what size tires will fit?

The advice given in this thread was to help the OP, most of the peeps offering the advise have extensive knowledge with the Tacoma suspension systems. I’m no expert but have personally installed complete lift kits on more than 9 Tacoma’s and 2 4Runner’s, my personal vehicles since 1997.

Ignore all advice, put the tires on and drive it, it’s your dime.

The diff spacer will not not make any difference for the 3rd Gen Tacoma. Please take a few mins and read through the many pages that talk about this very subject.

LOL what does your age have to do with anything? You are real stuck on that and real upset. I’m not the only one who told you it’s a bad idea…….

The only thing that shows your age is you turning this into a dick measuring contest about how hard your jobs is…. In comparison to someone you know nothing about whatsoever.

It’s your truck, so do what you want. If you don’t like the advice given by me and others, don’t take it. Pretty simple…… enjoy your dirty job?
