Just got back from a week in Big Bend. Major storm and flood on the river last Thursday led to some great adventures on Saturday, will explain later.
Have lot of pics to post but here's a starter. I assure you the truck is in there, more pics later on still unpacking.

This is at Grapevine Hills, Balanced Rock trail.

Glen Springs Road, Big Bend, on the way to River Road West / East.
FYI, River Road East was CLOSED because of flood damage from the Thursday night storms, 4" of rain in the desert will do that. We didn't know about that but it didn't stop us either.
If you know the desert, you will see how green everything is from the rains. It's the most green we've seen it in the 3 trips we've made out there in the last year. Astonishingly green everywhere.
The Yokohama X-AT+ tires conclusively proved their worth on that run, going from hard rock to big rocks + gravel to loose sand to ->axle deep mud<- without missing a beat in any of them.
This was not a run for the stock tires, the mud alone would have stopped them cold.

We originally were going west on RR from the bottom of Glen Springs headed to Mariscol Mine but hit a completely washed out arroyo where the opposite side as a 4 FOOT vertical wall of mud with zero approach angle and the road was completely gone. Cool...
Turned back east and ran several more arroyos like that successfully because while the road was gone there was some semblance of an approach angel to work with with some very tight squeezes to stay on track and out of washouts in of the arroyos.
Eventually ran in to a park ranger who wanted to know what the hell we were doing there. Told here we headed to Mariscol but the wall of mud made us turn around and head east.
She says, this road is closed, the gate is locked! News to us, we came down Glen Springs, parts of which were also supposed to be closed as it turns out but there is no gate nor signage.
She was looking for someone who was camped down at Gravel Pit site and we all converged at the same time. He had been there since the Thursday storm and said that Gravel Pit road was under 3+ feet of silt and mud, totally impassable. He was low on water so we and the ranger restocked him with water (we always carry an intact case of bottled water in the truck out there) and threw in a couple of cold beers for his trouble.
Hot Springs road was also destroyed and impassable, the springs tub itself was flooded by the river and is full of silt.

We went back down Glen Springs again a few days later headed to Paint Gap canyon and found this sign that was the result of us talking to the ranger. lolDSC_0006.jpg

From the coast to the mountains. We're pretty lucky up here in the PNW!
