That was a outstanding photo journey Blevin. Congrats on a great trip. We're headed to Texas soon and then I'm making a trip to South Georgia. Thinking about Bradenton FL. for a race as well.
Thank you for posting. I really enjoyed it.

Thanks Dave. It was fun, I’ll go back and do the 500 mile version which is the western part of the loop. They say that’s where all the fun stuff is and seems to be much better camping options. If you head through Pensacola on your way to GA or Bradenton shoot me a DM. We can meet for coffee or lunch.

Mt. Airy was a fun little stop. I could have spent a day or 2 there.

I'd love to stop by. I'll give you some notice also. National Forest Service is in trouble and I'm not sure why. Someone cut the budget and I would think it's current Admin, but I don't know. Parks and Forest here are in decent shape, but struggling. I hate it. Our State Parks are doing very well and that inspires me. I'm now almost scared to head west. Like you, we do heavy research but you just don't know. Thanks again Blevin and especially for the invite. I'm honored.

I got the vibe from the volunteer at the Ranger Station that there was internal struggles with the FS. I agree with your suspicions it’s from DC. I think out west it’s not as bad just because of the amount of FS and BLM land make it easier to disperse camp, but you never know. Covid craziness has also driven way more people than usual into the wide open spaces. Hopefully it will settle down quickly.

Like Missouri, Florida State Parks are doing well. Georgia and VA State Parks are too from what I could tell. If you’re planning on camping at any of them you will be ok for your trip.

Thanks Scott. I’ve got plans for a big adventure to Alaska next summer if Covid will cooperate. Already have some backup plans in the works out west also.

I am! Now if I can just whittle down the honey-do list. Lol. More big trips in the works, I hope to knock out some short local weekend stuff now that it’s cooled off here.
