Was under the truck this morning re-routing my AC drain (have some extra hose and stainless hose clamp if anyone needs it). Noticed some weeping at a joint towards the back end of my transmission (5spd MT). There looks to be some factory sealant at that seam. I haven’t changed the tranny or transfer case fluid super recently. Anyone ever see something this on their trucks? Not sure if it’s because it was a chillier morning or if it needs to be resealed or something? Picture is from front of truck looking back, can see forward drive shaft tot the right. 0468DCBB-824C-45E9-ACAB-3EE3B0CE8643.jpg

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
Is it dripping at all anywhere? The picture makes it look more like a weep rather than a leak but is there any signs of it higher up? When was the last time you replaced the fluid? What kind did you use?
Anyways, I'm thinking it may be coming from higher up like the refill hole or from a vent or something. GL

The dome light may work because it can turn on without the key plus I think it is negative interrupted. Do you have a test light? Test with the ignition off and tap into any one that stays on!

I wouldn’t think twice about an invite! As easy as it is to talk about it, I have no problem making it a priority and getting schedules lined up. Been up to KT a couple times and it never disappoints.

I’d be down for a trip prior to winter settling in!

Looked like just a weep, I didn’t see anything higher but I’ll take a 2nd look. I last changed it about 2 years ago (35k or so) with redline mt-90. I’ve definitely been under there a number of times since then greasing u joints and such but this is the first time I’ve noticed it. I’ll keep and eye on it and slide some cardboard under the truck at night to see if there’s any significant accumulation.

Thanks fellas. Everyone I talk to has good things to say about the place. Luckily a buddy of mine in the S&C world live down there with his wife so there's at least a set of familiar faces.

Trails are closing for the season in a couple of weeks and I'm busy with winter prep (it's already snowing on the summit of Burke this morning) and I'm way behind where I need to be. We'll definitely set something up for next summer though.

I was polishing out my snows this weekend and noticed a small chunk missing from the sidewall at the rim, likely damage from mounting (but I couldn’t prove it). I dropped it off at the tire shop to have it inspected and the owner said it would likely be fine, but there was some hidden damage, so that stunk.

I original bought a pair of matching tires to get each axle with matching tread. I then rethought it and knew I’ll always be upset that I don’t have a matched set in terms of tread depth so I sucked it up and bought all four.

It’s going to hurt junking three Nokian tires with like 5,000 miles on them but my sanity is worth the extra $477.

Make an offer lol. 265/70-17, P-rated. > 9/32 tread. The last one is probably still fine but I won’t risk it with the monsters.

Oh - no I don't want them. Haha sorry. Wasn't trying to hint toward that. I'm happy with my setup for now.

No, I know that. I was being goofy. You’ve got what, a 64 tire rotation going on, right?

    I just measured...

A new tire is 11.5/32 per literature or 0.358". My depth gauge puts mine at 0.333", so less than 1/32nd. I now know I should have bought just two. However, I'm usually a ball of stress about my truck, so piece of mind is probably worth the cash. Though with everything being that close, I'll likely definitely try and resell the set even with the damaged tire included. New tires ship likely tomorrow, so mine will be available early November. I can't post a FS thread yet, right?
