well another theory ---
Im old enough to have been a carryout boy. We used to pack, and accompany the cart and assist the customer to load the trunk. On the way back it was expected to grab another cart or two if any were left behind by customers.
Then cart corrals came that year. Half the boys were laid off, and a couple months later the rest, except a couple guys for the grannys on the weekends.

This is all corporate greed, as groceries didnt get cheaper.

Im not sure how we became socialized into thinking it is the customers responsibility to pickup a non-paid position for the corporations.

So, to do my part, I deliberately .. and securely leave my cart where the store has to send boys around periodically go get 'em.
They need to hire at least one guy cause of stubborn old pricks like me that remember its not our job to back-fill the companies choice to lay off staff. Always leave them securely so they dont roll off and hit someone elses car though. That would be irresponsible. Guess Ive held that grudge for what .... 50+ years lol!

 

Seems most stores have self checkout these days, but some places like CVS don't even have people behind the counter sometimes. I'll stand there and wait for someone instead of using self checkout. They always look annoyed. Hey, it's your job, not mine.

My WTF is why is the video reversed? See it all the time on TikTok.

 

It's recorded with the phone's selfie camera, and the author didn't un-mirror it in the app settings.

 

Hmm - My iPhone selfie camera records normally. Must be something funky with the app.

 

The People's Phone flips selfie videos to "look" correct.... unfortunately many social media apps don't support that setting when recording video natively within their app. I tell my "influencer" friends all the time that if they want their sponsorship money they need to record the video first, then upload it to IG so that their followers can see the label/tag/whatever.

 

All handled in the app I think. Some record correct video but shows mirrored in real-time to help with scene composition (so it's like looking in a mirror).
