The TRR8 is on my short list for a new woods carry gun. The rails come off thankfully! It’s also a lightweight frame, and IMO 8 rounds of 357 in a 35oz package is plenty for just about any wildlife or social encounter. It should make a great hog gun or close range class 2 animal hunting pistol It’s built on an N Frame.

I didn’t realize it was an 8 shot wheel and the rails come off. I just scrolled down to see what calibers. Knowing that becomes a game changer now.

That is a very nice revolver, thinking about getting one myself. I want something to carry around in the bush a bit.

My friend who does not have a Tacoma and refuses to join Facebook recently bought a .22 Glock for the sole purpose of having a gun that is cheap to fire at the range (his carry pistol is a Walther PPS 9mm). The gun has since been sent back to Glock USA under warranty, but want to get everyone’s opinion on this...

The way he describes it, the trigger becomes harder and harder to pull with each round fired; Changing out the mag corrects this problem, but it soon comes back so it’s basically lather, rinse, repeat...

He has cleaned the gun and tried different brands of ammo, etc, but nothing works.

Any ideas what could be wrong with his gun? A local “Glock Certified Armorer” was also baffled... :notsure:

The fact that changing out the mag fixes the issue tells me it's probably something with the relationship between the mag and feed ramp. I'm having a hard time understanding how this would affect the trigger though. Maybe it's over extending into the magwell and putting lateral pressure on the frame somewhere?

My friend jokes that he's having bad luck with .22 weapons; He bought this beautiful AR-type Mossberg .22 at a gun show and when he put rounds in they would get deformed. He ended up trading that for the Glock...

    Crazy.

I realize he already sent it back, but to diagnose, I would probably pull the slide back after every shot in the mag and take a pic of the top of mag and feed ramp and see if it looks any different from pic to pic. I suspect the act of feeding the rounds and the follower moving up is pushing the magazine in some direction for some reason.

sounds like he bought Used !!

that this is more speculation than reality factors

the gun was modified or damaged by previous owner !!!

glocks are NOT complicated or fragile

all parts can be replaced in a manner of minutes.......................

getting the gun right back to square one with proper function

    Clearance issue.

Every time you fire you heat up the parts.

If clearance was just right, the first fire would be fine.

Now heat one part more than other parts, and the tolerance is tighter.

I understand the metallurgy of expansion, but not a clue how that happens in real-world conditions.

WIth bearings, chill the shaft (shrink it) warm up the bearing (expand it). Move fast and press the shaft into the bearing. Once they are at the same temp they won't come apart (without using a bearing press). The hardest part about precision parts is measuring without heating them up. Nothing in the Glock is that tight of a tolerance (least dust/dirt would jam them up). I suspect a metal burr, but I'm curious to hear the outcome.

Used Glock, I can understand the issue, but head-scratcher on a new one.

NOTE: This is a "just for fun" post since it's almost Halloween :)

:pumpkin: Yes, I know zombies aren't real...

But, I transformed my Tacoma into a Zombie Outbreak Response Vehicle for Halloween and after playing The Last of Us Part II, I can't help but wonder what people would defend themselves with if we actually had some sort of zombie apocalypse...

As far as weapons that would have been readily available to the public, my top three picks for firearms to kill zombies with would be...

    • Pretty much any 9mm handgun.
    • The venerable 12-gauge shotgun.
    • Any AR-15.
    What does everybody else think?
