That Holosun seems to be one that gets very good reviews.

That FN 509 does seem to check the boxes. I found the S&W 13450 (last link in my previous post) for $860 local with no FFL or shipping.

What's everyone's thoughts on the new Springfield SA-35? Hi-power clone with no mag disco and MSRP of $699 makes this seem pretty tempting.

Its pretty exciting honestly. I ve always wanted a BHP but couldnt justify the cost.
I like that they deleted the mag safety and increased mag capacity. Bummer it only ships with one mag.

Nice to see Springfield head more the direction of making classics accessible and reliable instead of recycling croatian glock knock offs (gRiP zONe).

My guess is this will be their "mil spec" base model with upgraded models a few years down the road.
Would be cool to see an operator line and a carry line

I will prolly give it a year or two, just like with vehicles I dont like buying the first couple rounds of production.

Think it's a nice offering, still rather have an original but they're high. Even the heavily used surplus ones.

Like what I see with it, I’ve never seen BHP in person though.

I'd skip the 509t with the vortex viper. Can't adjust it while it's on the gun and if it was purchased that way, the other optics plates aren't included (I found this out the hard way and spent more money on an RMR plate and a holosun 507c. Top of the price range, but I'd suggest the shadow systems mr920 elite. All the mods most people do to glocks right out of the box and prob the best optics mounting solution I've handled.

I've always wanted a BHP but it never lined up. Work took in a pretty clean one last week and put it on the floor for $1.2k and it sold in two days.

Spoke with my boss today and he ordered our allotted 5 SA-35s and said our cost was about $525. I'm going to try and snag one if I can. I know Springfield (understandably) gets a lot of shit but I'm down to be a guinea pig.

It's a pretty tempting price point, and since FN/Browning discontinued them, which honestly didn't make a whole lot of sense to me, it also is the only option for brand new. From what I understand, the SA-35 also takes the original or aftermarket Mecgar mags, which are easily found online.

What I'm gathering is that when it comes to pistol red dots, you either get the Trijicon RMR, Holosun 507C, or throw your money into a fire.

Actually, everyone I talk to seems to know who he is, so I'm guessing they have all watched his videos.

If you can I'd recommend borrowing a pistol with a red dot and trying it out before dropping the money on one.

I bought a RMR a few years ago and tried to like it but finally went back to irons about a month ago

The RMR’s and Holosuns (507, 508, and 509) are the way to go, I prefer the 509 for enclosed emitter and square viewing window, 508 is runner up.
I have a Romeo 1 pro on my Xcompact and it’s allright but I’ll likely have the slide re-cut to allow an RMR footprint.

When I got my first slide mounted optic a few years ago it took hours of dry fire and hundreds of rounds at the range to run it proficiently, but now I’m used to it and I much prefer an optics system for the flexibility that it offers.
