I used to be a "boater" for a guy out of Greensboro. He had a phoenix with a Merc "R". He would legit wear a full face helmet at take off. Didnt understand why until i looked over and saw 74. He wasnt a great fisherman but down that thing would fly. Scary fast.

This is my idea of a jet ski. I used to have a stand up Kawasaki JS440 back in the day.

Current model skis are nuts. 1500cc Jetski and 1000cc SuperJet.

Anybody can hop on a runabout and feel like a hero. The same cannot be said for a standup.

Kinda my thoughts. It takes skill. I was pretty decent at it. But had a buddy with a racing ski, I couldn't keep that thing from porpoise-ing to save my life!
My first experience was in the ocean, not a pleasant experience. Lol

I made my old 18 footer run in the 70s it was fun as hell. Now that I've ridden in the bigger CCs that do 70 and are 100x more stable I'll take that.

SO MUCH WORK if you're already living there.

I did mine three years ago in the middle of August when I had the flu. I had about a week before I was moving in, so it had to be done. House already had epoxy floor but they were brown and I wanted grey.

    Imagine using 30-60 grit to sand epoxy clear coat, during 95^F days, with the flu. T E R R I B L E

Yep. Way easier to do when the garage is empty. Also, they recommend that you don't do it to garage floors that have the expansion joints in them. I'm not sure why that is, but I know I've read that.

I have the expansion joints and have considered doing half of my garage at a time as there is no way I could get it completely empty.

You can fill the joints in, and grind them down flush. I've done several.

Be advised if you use the Rustoleum or similar big box brands, they hold up pretty good, but the clear coat is not UV stable so it will yellow in a few years down here in the south.

By the time you do everything and buy enough product of the Rustoleum or similar brands, you're almost at the prosumer products price point, and you'll be much happier.

Prep is key, takes a couple days to do it right. Pro's will just use a concrete grinder and leave a course finish on it. Course finish helps the epoxy stick, the epoxy is thick enough that it self levels more or less.

    For example:

My garage is 22x22 or something. Took 4 Rustoleum kits of paint (I do two coats so you don't see roller marks), and 3 or 4 kits of clear (it doesn't go nearly as far as they say it will). Lots of flake, etc. Price adds up fast and all of a sudden that $800 prosumer kit doesn't sound so bad. Especially when my clear is turning yellow 3 years down the road.

I did the Rustoleum kit on my last garage and it turned out well. As you said, prep is key!
