Anyone had trouble buying Engine oil yet?

I just walked in to 7-11 no motor oil in the enitre store, this store does not have gas pumps either. Oil might not a hot commodity at this particular store. I do have a 32 gallon plastic trash can, that is still half full so I'm good. I can not find the lid, and the hardware store don't know when those will be in stock.

 

Local autozone was out of the Rotella I usually use on my other truck. Bought a different brand to get me by and didn't think much of it. The shop I work at is fully stocked with the Rotella I need. We get it straight from shell.

I've got 3 gallons of used oil I drained out of the truck to change the oil pan, was planning on putting fresh oil back in but the used oil still has about 3k left on it before needing changed. I'm starting to wonder if u should put the old back in

 

walmart was all out of synthetic 0w-20 last time i went. just ordered some amsoil and was here in 2 days. i am in northern VA and they have a distribution center in Richmond so it was here quickly.

 

Got my first change last week at 5,000 miles because well I wanted it. Had them use the TRD Oil Filter as well ( on my SR5 )...

All I can say is it feels way smoother.

Gonna do 5 - 10 - 15 - 20 - then after that probably 7k mile intervals.

 

Didn’t realize that engine oil was low in certain areas, I guess I’m lucky my work has a 55 gallon container of

I just buy when it goes on sale at Cambodian Tire or Wallymart. I have not seen any issues of supplies here as of yet.

 

Oh no you guys going to start panic buying oil like you did with gas

Whatever kind of oil we get for the diesels here at work has been on back order for about 4 weeks now. We get 55 gallon drums.
Shelves are full of 0w-20 as of a couple days ago when I bought some.

 

Does seem to be a thing. Article from a couple months back. Maybe it’s just finally rolled around to where I live.

The Diesel oil for my place of work, comes in a tanker and they pump it into a holding tank. I have not heard of any shortage. I know we can't seem to get headlamps though. Specific to this equipment, not automotive stuff. No need to panic buy headlamp bulbs.



Yet...

 

Shortages must be location and distributor dependent, or so it seems

 

I changed my front and rear diff oil a few weeks ago. Auto zone didn't have enough of any one brand. Didnt want to mix brands so I had to go to a second store. Nothing else appeared to be in short supply.

 

Not gonna lie I had issues a month ago … two Walmart’s didn’t have 0w20, Amazon didn’t either. but Amazon shipped it earlier than expected (it was on back order ) not like I change it every day…. Oh wait not another oil thread

 

I haven’t had any problem finding “oil” at all as I just run Castrol Edge 10/30 in my v-6 Tacoma BUT I can’t find oil filters to save my life!! I normally run “WIX” filters as their the best but supposedly the factory is down so I had to actually run to the Stealership and buy theirs against my own advice because I refuse to use Fram (crap). So if you find filters than I’d suggest you buy a couple to keep on hand…. Btw if you need 0/20 than Walmart had a bunch the last time I was their but who knows now? Good luck all!! Still no shortage on Beer though thank god!!! Lol.

 

If everyone stuck to 10K changes there would be lots of oil for everyone!
