Tomorrow is going to be interesting. Got a couple flood control projects in construction on the valley floor on multi-order streams (i.e. taking inputs from numerous streams in upper watershed). Major rains are still to come tonight.

Mammoth has increased the snow totals for town from 3-5" to 10-14" in the last 24 hours. It's either moving slower then they thought, getting colder then they thought, or both.

This always surprises me. Flood control projects need to be done before rainy season. I digress. There’s heavy equipment in a creek here.

The in-steam work is typically done before Oct 15th per permit conditions. However, not everything goes as planned and you can request weekly extensions from the agencies past the 15th with extra conditions added if approved.

South Fork Bishop Creek has a PC 220 about 8 feet from the bank. I noticed it today on my way home from wheeling. There's a bunch of 36" culvert stacked up close by. I doubt it will be a problem but it's not an ideal place to leave a piece of equipment over a flash flood weekend. lol

They keep saying once you go bidet, bathroom breaks take longer. Especially if you opted for warm water!

I haven't gotten any emails about landslides in my areas yet, but there was apparently a damn big rockfall out on Hwy 70 in the Sierras yesterday.

Couple weeks ago, but I recently visited Greenville, which was consumed by the Dixie Fire about 2 weeks earlier. The fire was still active at the time, and there were crews extinguishing hot spots. Quite an eye-opening scene, and this 1st gen didn't make it.

Great picture. It’s amazing how hot the fires got just based off the alloy wheels being partly melted.

That's the one. Sadly, it's out of my District, so I don't get to check it out. Heading up to the Willits area tomorrow for a small slide, though.

Anyone have any hood spots to camp outside of Squaw Valley? Looking to start heading up that way a bunch more with Palisades opening early. Closest spot I know is about an hour 15 outside away from Palisades. Feel free to PM
