Now just add a TrueTrac or some type of LS and gears.

You better make a decision quickly because as soon as the factory’s start getting chips to build again the use car market will go soft‼️
Plus lower the truck and put a set of stock wheels on your Taco. They bring top dollar unmolested! Again unmolested! Sold this one with a salvage title in less than 48 hrs for full retail book with the title. Many walked away but they came one right after another. I stuck to my price and got it and I could have got more but too many dick heads started to argue about the price. Had to tell one guy to leave before I call the police. He wanted but didn’t want to pay the price it sold for, the guy who purchased came 3 times to look and try to talk me down. I just said I’m sorry but that’s the price you’re more than welcome to go purchase anyone you like. He said Hell one guy didn’t even wash the truck and it was full of fast food wrappers. I just smiled… The bottom pic is how I purchased it.

How much did you sell her for if you don’t mind me asking ? Mine is a 5spd with 102k so just trying to ball park for fun.

Add mileage (you’re low mileage @ 102k) and follow the rest! I used Private Party in Good Condition.
But I clean the shit out of it! I probably spent 10 to 12 hours pulling the interior out and cleaning. I replaced the cover for the cigarette lighter and replaced some small parts and purchased new cheap sun visors. Probably 4 to 5 hours cleaning the engine bay with a wash mitt and many types of scrub brushes. Then jacked up the truck as high as I could pulled the wheels and did the same to the wheel wells and undercarriage. One guy commented “Was it hit that hard it needed a new rear end?” I said No Why? He said it looks like a new rear end. I told him no I just think the owner took good care of the truck. Thinking damn my work paying off. One couple took it to a tech to inspect it. They said he said you be crazy not to buy it! He told them it was one of the cleanest trucks he seen. He said the owner must have taken very good care of it. I also flushed & charged ALL the fluids. Toyota antifreeze was the most expensive @ $28 from Amazon. The tech also told the couple the brake fluid & gear lube was spotless. :D Trust me the truck was beat to death. When I had the bedside and tailgate painted I pulled the front bumper off to have the painter paint it. Bought a cheap chrome grill and sold the factory one on Craigslist for more than I paid for the aftermarket grill. Dad worked for car dealerships and trust me stock unmolested vehicles sell for A LOT more than modified vehicles, A LOT more… People just think if a vehicle is stock the owner must not “Hot Rod” it and take good care. It’s in everyone’s sub conscience. Trust me the paint was not the best but two cases of beer to my PDR guy and $50 cash there wasn’t a door ding or dent anywhere. This shit adds up. Hell I clean the door jams to hell. Used a gallon of Purple Power a 4 bottles of that new Dawn soap. That stuff works. I also have a 3100 psi power washer for around the house that help. I think you get the picture… Honestly I could have easily got $1000 over book but the title was a salvage. Everyone commented about that.
    Good luck

Did a little trail blazing this weekend up the side of a mountain. Climbed from 300 to 4100 feet up Forest Service roads and tapped out on a old logging road (I questioned my ground clearance; last picture). I was pretty surprised this trucks capabilities, its definitely a 2wd mule. Steep sections of mud and large rock I was able to traverse even at factory height with 30” tires. Readylift and Bilsteins on order. 3:73 LSD also on my list now. Really enjoying the fact that this truck can get great gas mileage and climb mountains.

    Yes 3:58.

After adding full bolt ons, FBO as they say over at ClubLexus, I feel that shift in peak torque to down to 2600-2700RPM has offset most negative impact with upsized tires. The change in power band makes this engine very sufficient. Running these new lightweight wheels (18lbs) also helps. With the added power, the 2.7 doesn’t seem underwhelming at all even with 29.6” tires. I do understand gearing and sometimes I feel that new ratio. I checked a couple weeks and current gearing is equal to 3:25. 3:73 doesn’t seem like much I know the 4:10 is out there maybe I have more reading to do…

I value fuel economy still so I don’t want the revs up too much. This is primarily my commuter, it just happens to go off road from time to time. As far as tire size I don’t think that I’ll upsize more than 31”. Where I’m at now is seemingly fine but let’s get this lift in first…

I get the need for speed… I’ve always wanted a fast truck but this ain’t the one. My other money pit is a 425 horse LS460 FSport so I really love the simplicity of the Taco and four cylinders. I think I really need to settle in on a tire size before I finalize gearing. It’s getting expensive chasing these different wheel set ups. The open differential is a weak spot on the truck.

With a blower under the hood I can see why gearing is so important for your truck. I wouldn’t want to wait so long to be in that power band either… Brakes on this truck are very basic when compared to the 15” 6 pot Brembo’s on my Lex. It makes me wonder why the XRunner didn’t have the 6 lug brakes.

How I bought her (about a month ago).
    And as of last weekend

$120 set of old Grand Cherokee wheels and 235/75r15 tires
    $100 diamond plate box
    $80 stock replacement grill
And a few hours of sanding, spraying touch up paint and polishing.
Used an extractor on the seat and carpets to pull out a few gallons of coffee looking sludge.
And modified the bench seat so it reclines.

Still got a little more paint work to go, got some 1” wheel spacers on the way, and I want to add a CarPlay capable double din head unit.

Then I think I’m done messing with it for a while

Blast from the past. My truck 10 years ago. JD fab long travel with fabtech lift spindles 32x11.5
j59 deaver with shackle lift in the rear.

Funny thing is my front is still the same.
Just on 33s now and a ton more junk welded to it

Oh, I forgot silver calipers w/ two piece StopTech rotors if you look closely. This is the best bang for the buck! Out of all the $ I’ve wasted these are worth every penny!
