Shop Time w/T.W. Friends

I paid $5 for a model that had the entire thing modeled. It said it was a brain!

It started off the 50 hour print great but somewhere along the line it went to hell. We're making due and some wood filler and primer and calling it good enough because we're running out of time.

 

yeah after looking at the DIY kits this was the way to go.....

 

I only said kidney cause its a brain but the first post said heart, I thought it was part of the fun!

At work today I got a set of pins out to measure threads. I couldn't remember how to use them
I seen the correct pins and then theres a add number and a constant. Anyone know a simple equation for that. I was going to measure 3/4-10 threads but just got a nut to check. I've been lucky and only seen one job come in the shop where they were really needed. A supplemental employee showed me but that was several years ago.
As far as threading taper pipe threads machine shop has a rigid threader and weld shop has one with even a larger capacity.
I've only single point turned a taper thread one time just to see it work.

Isn't the consonant and number the standard tolerance for the threads?

 

I can never remember. My set has a card with the equations.

Edit: I'll post a pic tomorrow if you need it.

 

Good morning. I got to thinking maybe just add that number to .750 for thread diameter.
If you figure it out, a picture would help please.

 

My coworker who runs the lathe uses pins to measure threads all the time, 99% of the time a nut won't fit and it needs .001" to .002" taken off so it will fit. I've ask him why he don't use a nut to begin with
