If the chairs are comfortable and the AC works what else more do you need? I'm not passionate about interiors like some people on here

I need perforated leather, with AC coming through the cushions, WHILE they vibrate. That way I can really enjoy Yellowstone on my OLED TV whilst the truck drives for me. Did I mention I'm a rugged individualist? 'Merica.

My flashback circa mid nineties. Housekeeping campground in Yosemite. Some joker has a big screen tv in the back of his pickup. Back in those days, it was the really big screen. The ones in three foot deep cabinets and potato resolution. Asshole had it blasting until 2 am. Never again on weekends in major national parks.

I’ve run into stuff like that before. Amazing how local critters can sometimes bite through power cords when you’re not around! Like, perfectly clean, knife-straight lines! Nature finds a way. :)

That critter is usually half in, half out of sleep thinking he will get up to do it. Then can't move a muscle cause well he's out of it.

Yeah, for sure. The critter needs to come out around 11am when the occupants are eating burgers in Curry Village.

Just a rant..... Was thinking of purchasing a truck this year. Got excited about the newly designed Frontier but was extremely disappointed when I saw it in person. It was just not family friendly especially with the upright rear seats. Ridgeline seemed like the better alternative but the VCM technology is a joke. Thought about the Tacoma but I cannot get used to the driving position. Its like sitting up in a coffin and driving around. With that said, if Toyota corrects the following issues, I would be a buyer

    1. Seating... Front: More natural position as oppose to the sunken position. Rear: A little more recline for it to be comfortable. More space would be a bonus.
    2. Brakes - Someone needs to let Mike Sweers know that rear drum brakes are not as effective as discs. I know his decision is based on upper management but come on....everything new but old technology? (note: from the pics, it appears it will be discs....)
    3. Rear defroster ...ok, some of you might think I am crazy but if you live in a city like Buffalo, NY, it matters! Everything gets coated with ice and snow. [IMG]

So, those are my three issues that Toyota would need to address. Will have to wait a while to see Toyota makes these changes.

Everyone is different so hard the please everybody.

I have no issues, seating seems fine to me, stops very well even with drums…though disc would easier to replace the pads when the time comes. Run a topper so rear defrost is pretty much useless.

Have you looked at the Tundra? Interior is cavernous compared to the Taco.

Right?!? I think the seating position is fine, especially with the electronic seat.

I have no issues with the drum brakes, they last forever and stop just fine. The Tacoma still stops faster than the Ridgeline or the Ranger according to this article https://www.carindigo.com/toyota/tacoma-trd-off-road-access-cab/performance

And the Tacoma has heated mirrors, I can still see behind me just fine when it's icy and cold

I just praying they offer a step-side. Toyota knows how to do step-side!

Sounds like you want a Ford Ranger SXT with the special edition package. That comes with a rear window defroster. I'd get that in a super cab configuration. Find some new Bronco bealock take offs, a set of Fox 2.0s, the Tremmor wheel moldings and the Tremmor grill.

I remember a stepside Tacoma somewhere around 2000, it was not attractive either.
