For the non-electric seats, It is too bad they don’t have a manual adjust seat bottom like the old SR5 seats from the early mid 90s. Seems a little odd they do have adjustable lumbar and not the bottom. But overall they feel fine to me, could always do seat jackers to fine tune it. I am the only one who drives my truck, so I set it and forget it. Don’t really need powered seats.

Yeah the heated mirrors are nice, used them for the first time today, cleared the fog up right quick.

Thanks to the bean counters, the Tacoma still has drum brakes. No other reason.

The best step sides were in the late 70s early 80s. Don’t think they were factory, either a fiberglass Wolverine kit or a cut down Chevy.

Even on a set it and forget it type of situation they are still nice because of the extra adjustments and finding a sweet spot.

Pretty sure they just used left over parts from the end of PT Cruiser production.

True, I grew up driving with bench seats, not too too picky.

I’m trying so hard to like it. I swear it’s the only truck where the back is the front.

Me too, there was an issue in the 80s that had a Toyota spread of two trucks, one was lifted on Dick Cepeks…think it was tan and terracotta (maybe metallic brown, can’t remember). Would love to have that issue, searched and searched but can’t find it. Have been a Toyota geek for a long time now…

Here's a good place to look for old issues

Seating position is a personal opinion. I don't mind it but I don't really think it's much different than the truck I owned before it. More space in the rear would be nice but it is a mid-size truck for a reason.

Brakes: honestly, the drums are fine. They stop well, prevent mud/dirt from getting in in the first place a lot better than discs, and they last a long time. Hell, my last truck had them and that was a GM. Plus the vast majority of your braking is done up front. The notion that drums are holding this truck back is quite frankly a result of the placebo affect.

Rear defroster. I live in Michigan. I thought this was going to be an issue, but it has never once caused me an issue. The window is just too vertical for it to matter most of the time. The only time I've ever run into anything close to an issue was with snow and that was easily brushed away.

I’ve never owned a vehicle with power seats, haha. I did have power mirrors and windows in my ranger, which was very nice.
