Lots of miles, lots of smiles. Time for a facelift.
Ok, maybe my old Taco isn't really that old. It's a 2001 TRD extra cab 3.4, 5spd with a crusty old camper shell. I bought it new and have put 250,000 miles on since. I've loved this truck a lot and still do but it's getting a bit tired out here and there so I'm going to be refreshing the suspension and various other things. I like to mostly do my own work on this kind of stuff. I've been messing around with cars and bikes since I was a kid. My plan for my old Tacoma is to fix it up for camping and exploring with a little bit of a lift, 32" tires and a pop-up tent camper shell. I'm hoping to build the shell myself so I can combine my favorite features. I like the features and weight of both the Go Fast Camper and the OVRLND camper. I'll get a build thread going soon as I will begin the build in the near future. Thanks for a great forum! There are some very inspiring builds on here.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. It seems like a great community here.

Actually I was a 63H tracked vehicle mechanic back when the M1 Abrams was new. I mostly worked on Deuce and a halfs, 5 tons, CUCVs, Hummers, etc. I was a wrecker operator too and drove a HEMTT:
This isn't the actual one I drove but it's just like it. That thing was pretty bad ass. 8 wheel drive, air lockers on each axle, tons of torque, that thing would go just about anywhere. People used to tell me those shithooks would fall out of the sky if they quit leaking oil, cause they were out of oil. Yeah, things have changed a bit since I got out which was almost exactly 30 years ago. My big adventure was the first foray to the sandbox, Desert Storm. Thanks to you and all the other vets for your service. I'm looking forward to getting to know the community here.
