Im thinking the stock Taco with stock tires and stock gearing, would have an advantage over a Taco with heavier, larger diameter tires .

Depends on the tune. We talking aggressive throttle or wife/stock tip in?

    I vote tuned truck.

Tug a war is about traction. The vehicle with the most traction will win regardless of the torque and power of either vehicle.

If traction is equal then torque wins

So if the traction is equal, the heavy duty minivan(3.5) engine will win over the light duty truck(4.0) engine?

It all depends on which will have the better traction and the ability to put the power to the ground.

I think the truck with the highest ground pressure will win the tug.

All other things being equal the advantage would go to the engine that generates the most torque....preferably at the lowest rpm. The peak torque of the 1GR-FE comes in at 500 rpm less and pound or 2 more than the 2RG. So.....

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on who originated the file.

    I know one thing for sure, 479 lbs/ft @2400 sounds like it would spank 401 lbs/ft @3600... let's not even talk about 583 lbs/ft.

But, chest pounding V8 noise must count for something though, right?
