What about NC or east TN/west NC?

 

Why not do a one-way cargo van rental then fly back and retrieve Jeep?

 

I will mildly disagree. The Mountain State just ‘feels’ more fun, plus tons of gravel for us dual-type guys

 

Ill need to explore more there. I haven't been to southern WV

Yes. Thanks. I have looked at u-haul and they are pretty reasonable. That was actually my "fall back" option.

Doesnt need to be enclosed really. I can probably get the jack in the back of the jeep if its not to heavy for me to slide it up in there.

It's not super important right now. I'll just wait until early spring. Maybe fly up and cargo van back.

Anyone have some dual sport/gravel/dirt routes near Gainesville/Warrenton? I feel like there has to be a fair bit out here and further west towards the mountain range but I have not found much other than the camp Rapidan road. Looks like some fire roads out that way but I'm a little worried about ending up on a hiking trail again, did that out in Fort Valley once, in my defense it wasn't marked! Photo is from below Old Rag yesterday.

 

Had some time this morning so I threw it into Rever's route planning map thing, which pulls from Butler Map's database. Looks like theres some north of Leesburg, but otherwise you're kind of in a dead spot :\ Green is "paved" mountain roads, brown is ATV+ wide trails. Gold, red, orange is best, better, good paved roads.
