I recently purchased a 2021 TRD Off-Road last month. My absolute dream truck. Well, a couple weeks ago.. I opened up my drivers side door and discovered the combo meter display had suffered a seizure. I left it alone for an hour, came back and the display had fixed itself. Regardless, I took it to the dealer week later. They were able to reproduce the issue. They told me they’d have to order a new combo meter. I got a text a couple days after leaving it at the dealer, stating that the combo meter part is on back order, and could be a few days, or even a month until one could be put in my truck. Anyone else have this issue?

I've read a few around here, but sounds like they were warrantied, so no big deal

If electronic parts are only a month out that’s good news. I bought a boat last month due in June.

Yeah no problem with the warranty. I just don’t want my $46k truck in someone else’s hands for a month lol.

Yep, same. 2020 SR5 about four months ago. I left it and came back after 30 minutes or so and all was well. Fortunately, it hasn’t happened since. Fingers crossed that I don’t have to have it replaced. Good luck.

I’d take it into the dealer if you have the time.

Thanks. I have two years left on my warranty so I’ll see how it goes. I can’t reproduce it at this point. Hope it was a one timer.

I’ll probably return it to the dealer and ask for new replacement truck. My brother in law had a problem on his Tundra at one time they looked at it and they said they can’t find the problem and should be good to go. It died when its was raining hard but diagnostic test it looks good . So he returned it and asked for new one coz’ who can tell that it might not happen again. So they might replace the electronic part but did not figured it out that cause the problem to begin in the first place.. just something to think about.

Looks like a loose connector, you can get the same nice colored look if you slowly unplug the video cable for a computer monitor.

Under warranty always take it to the dealer and make it their problem as that's what warranties are for.

I disconnected my negative terminal for a minute and reconnected it. Hadn't had an issue since.

Probably is just as simple as that. Should I halt warranty work?

I took pictures of it incase.
It's exhausting to worry and cause alarm over every little thing bud. Keep an eye on it and just drive the thing. If it does it again then snap a pic while it's doing it and take it in to them.

Rest assured, you will NOT get a new vehicle and you'll likely get a bad vibe from then on from them if you go raising hell over a small thing
