Twenty minutes went by between those two pictures, and my left fog light went out...

 

I reached up behind the bumper in an attempt to get the bulb out, and just one tug on the wire was all it took to make the light come back on; I'm guessing Pennsylvania's shitty roads caused the wire to get jostled loose...

I am going to check the oil weekly, but it would appear that an $8.50 PCV valve has solved the problem!

 

If it uses more than half a quart in the next 3,500 miles, I'm gonna have Pete replace the valve cover gasket; I have no idea what the problem could be otherwise!

Here's another story of unpleasant gas station clerk; I was on a roadtrip with my parents and we stopped at gas station to refuel the van's gas tank and empty our tanks. I had to pee, and this gas station had two single-person bathrooms, one for men and one for women; The men's room was in use and locked, so I did what I'd done countless times before and headed for the women's room...

I say again that this was a single-person restroom, and the only difference between it and the men's room was a sign on the door (and possibly a tampon dispenser); I have lost count of the number of times I've used single-person women's restrooms when the men's restroom was unavailable for whatever reason. Nobody ever gave a shit prior to this incident, which I believe was in like 2011 or 2012 (I'm 99% sure it was after I got my driver's license, which was in May 2011), and nobody has given a shit since!

Anyway, the clerk was this middle-aged foreign lady, and she flipped out the moment I touched the doorknob of the women's room; Her argument was I automatically couldn't use it because it was a women's room; Again, it was a one-person restroom with a locking door...

My argument was that (A) I really had to pee, (B) there was nobody in there, and as stated above (C) it was a single-person facility with a locking door!

I was also tired and not in the mood for this woman's bullshit; We argued and argued until the person who had been using the men's room came out. I used the men's room and left the convenience store; I will still continue to use single-person ladies' rooms when the men's room is unavailable!

Half a quart in 3,500 miles is nothing to be concerned about. Per most manufacturers one quart in 1,000 miles falls under "normal" consumption.
Just check it weekly, top up as required and keep alert for leaks.

 

If you don’t see any oil physically leaking from the gasket I wouldn’t bother to replace. Plus you just changed your plugs so you know condition of the spark plug seals.
