Looking sharp! Any changes to how the tire is tied down in the bed so you don't have a repeat?

 

Well this time the spare was just laying there not strapped down. So now I’ll just be sure to strap it down in some sort of fashion.

 

I wish the smooth-back windows could do a drop-down function. I find a single rear window to look so much cleaner than the slider/splits.

Agreed, like a tundra or a 4runner. That would be the ultimate setup.

 

The way those windows drop down is fuckin mint, my 2014 F150 had a powered rear window which i liked, but obviously thats only the center. The new Tundra TRD will likely be the next truck in fall 2023.

This looks pretty cool! Manual is a bummer though (unless i'm looking at it wrong)

 

Biggest pet peeve about the 4runner rear window is that its 47" wide. like 1.5" wider and a little bar to keep stuff like wood off of the window molding would make it much better so it could carry a sheet of plywood without having to cut it down

I always forget the tundra has the roll down window, which would be nice to quickly toss stuff from the bed into the cab or vice versa

 

did the window guy have anything to say about betty? I bet its pretty fun to get the occasional cool vehicle to work on

It's manual. The 80s photos always keep me from buying one. I've looked at one for my other truck a million times. Maybe I'll pull the trigger some day.

 

Not really, he was pretty unenthusiastic about having to work in general and didn’t seem to give a shit about Betty loll

Did you go through insurance or your pocket?

 

Pocket. My deductible, even on glass, is $500. This new window was $458. Now if I wanted to keep the sliding window then I would have gone through insurance, since that was like $1,200.

 

Curiously, did you happen to see what labor was?

They do have a location here but I'll happily pay $35 to save myself 2 hours of my life if I had gone to them.
