I’m trying to diagnose a weird misfire and thought I’d try a compression check. Need to send off the truck to a shop.

That is true, the variance is enough to signal that something is wrong

How far did you drive it since? It took just under 200 miles on the 4runner.

Probably about that much, I'll take it on a good freeway drive before stopping off at the smog shop on Sat. Should see if I still have my Bluetooth OBDII dongle in the center console, was easy to pull up the monitors info via Torque

118, not bad for my memory's sake lol.

Yeah, trucks been cherry ever since. Im still fairly convinced i bought a truck that was ghetto fixed with block sealer, still unsure how and why what happened to it.

Im at 143k rn, 1k left till ive put 50k on her when i bought in 2019. Doesnt skip a beat, i slap the gears daily haha. Cant wait for u to get ur own projects rolling, hoping u brush some motivation onto me so i can get the rear end sorted and my lift.

That should do it. CA smog test has gotten stupid expensive I think it was $120 back in August. So glad I don't have to deal with it anymore.

@Tour991 did you have to put yours on the dyno at the shop? Under 2000 model years have to get dyno & tailpipe tested as I recall, I'm guessing that costs more.

My 04 just gets a visual and OBDII check, thankfully. Takes maybe 10 - 15 min then I'm on my way

My second gen went from $330 in Ca to $120 NV that was nice

I don't think they did. It looked like they never moved it from where I dropped it off. I did walk over to the store for about 20 minutes so they may have.

They do in LA county I should've said, not sure what it's like up in your neck of the woods...probably less strict since it's more rural
