I picked up some brace wire tensioners from TSC yesterday. Figured it was safer to use these than try to do that manually. I hope to get my braces and wire installed today. I want this fence up and it's taking too damn long.

I see you have Kings on there, odd question but if you get a chance, can you measure the spring overhang from the lock/adjustment nut?

 

Where is that? Pretty sure I built a retaining wall using the exact same system.

So I'm not sure if this plastic guard is original, or if it was installed as part of the frame rust TSB, but there's a bolt that hds it in place, and a nut on the inside. In order to get in there and hold the nut, I have to move the plastic guard, so I can't tighten the nut and bolt on the guard. Does that make sense?

 

I don’t remember having that or needing to mess with it. I’ll take a look again though

 

The long-handled bolt in my kit had to go through there in order to install through the frame rail where it meets the transmission crossmember

 

Ahh I see. Mine had a kick out that followed the cross member and bolted to it. Maybe that’s why I didn’t notice.

The instructions were alright. I followed their YouTube video which probably isn’t up anymore.

Now I'm working on exrracting a busted bolt from my front bumper, and it's so chemically welded in there, it snapped the goddamn extractor. FML




I'm debating whether to just drill the whole damn thing out and use a nut/bolt install instead of the welded bolt

 

Alright all, quick question: painting my grille and have two cans. Should I use:

Rustoleum Truck bed coating

Rustoleum Undercoating

 

The truck bed coating. Because the undercoating is rubber based and will rub right off
