So I ordered my 2022 TRD OR premium (thought it was a 2021) from Jim Pattison Victoria July 12th. After 7 weeks of hearing nothing from my salesman I called and asked if there was any update. He said no and that he'll reach out. 4 more weeks goes by and I decide that if it makes it go any faster I'll add a color to my preference. So I called and updated him with that. He told me I was maybe looking at the end of January.

While visiting family in Nanaimo on October 13th I found out we have a mutual friend that works at Nanaimo Toyota so I put an order in through him (Oct 14) letting him know that if JP comes through with my truck first, they will get my business. He understood and agreed.

Yesterday I got a call from Nanaimo Toyota saying they have secured my truck and it will be her the beginning of January! Still feels so far away, but pretty excited.
Should I be canceling my order with JP now?

No cancelling, wait and see who gets you a product 1st and give them $$$$$. The other side will just get the truck and it will sell from their lot, everybody wins :)

Buy both trucks. Within 3 months they are gonna double in price anyways with how things are going. You’ll make a small fortune!

dunno about 2022's but I went to a few dealerships back in the spring looking for a 2021 voodoo or Cement DCLB Auto. Got a song & dance from Country hills Toy & Southpoint (both large & affiliated) said it would be min 4 months to get anything. Then I went to Stampede who said they could get what I wanted within 1 1/2 months. Had the S/N and all the info I needed to know they weren't blowing smoke, it was traded from another dealership I was told. I guess there may be a difference with the shortage right now but when I ordered my 06 back in the day, they gave me all the info I needed immediately to know it was actually ordered & always got updates. FYI my truck arrived on time & I couldn't be happier! Shout out to Stampede Toyota in YYC, have been servicing my truck there sine 2006 & really happy with them. Paid $49000 all in incl. Heritage grill oem & a roll up hard cover tonneau. I was happy with the price1.jpg

I just talked to a dealer here in Manitoba. They have a 22 coming in next week that I may take. They had 5 allocated 3are presold. After that they only have one for December. He said they are getting calls from as far as 2 provinces over. I did find one 21 I’m interested in in Alberta but that dealer won’t budge from msrp plus doc fees. I’m probably better off taking the 22. Being so late in the year it will have better resale.

Glad to see that you Canucks are lucky to be able to get the 2022 as I think some are still waiting for their 2021. Hope they come through for you.

Fellow Manitoban here. Which dealership have you been dealing with? Are you taking the TRD Sport that my sales guy was trying to sell me?

Was hopeful to get my truck before Xmas but based on everyone else in here it sounds like January/February is more realistic.

When I was searching for my truck I found Southpointe to be full of absolute BS. Terrible to deal with.

Stampede was very helpful, straightforward, and realistic.

I didn't buy from either but Stampede was one of the few dealerships (and I talked to many) that didn't immediately piss me off. So that's something.

Just Curious. when I bought my 2020 exactly a year ago, Toyota Canada had year end incentives. They were offering 1.99% for 72 months on my TRD Sport 4X4 here in BC. How are people finding financing rates across Canada in todays environment from Banks, Credit Unions and Toyota Financial?

Dealer told me that Scotia Bank is the largest car loan provider in Canada and has the lowest rates. That could be BS, but Scotia did offer 0% for 12 months.

12 months that’s great. Payment will only be 4K a month. Jk. I think Toyota rates aren’t bad at 3.49

Meso Stage 1 tails. Complete front end Expel paint protection, ceramic coated, rust protection, 265 70 17 Cooper at3 4s on 17" OEM Sema Pro wheels. More to come...
Took advantage of the over inflated resale value of my 17 TRD Sport Premium DC LB in silver, then made a deal with my local Toyota dealer in Barrie ON. Ordered the same trim as my 17 but now the 22 comes with leather, and remote start also. Peaved it still sports the halogen HDs and fogs. Will be updating it with a set of OEM LEDs HDs and fogs and a meso led tails that I purchased. Made the deal late August the delivery date will be before Christmas.

i dealt with a Halifax Toyota dealer briefly when purchasing my 2016 4runner, made a deal then the day I was going down the salesman said they didn’t have the model/colour I wanted in stock, which previously was in stock. I don’t have time for people like that.

on another note I saw a car carrier with a blue crush trd sport on it heading north on the 102 almost to Truro today. I can assume the other Tacoma’s were 2022’s but not sure.

Similar experience...buying 2017 4runner limited. HRM dealerships played hardball. Msrp only + fees etc.
Called Truro got upgraded blizzard pearl paint included. And below MSRP all over the phone.
We drove up. Then negotiated undercoating ventvisors and extended warranty into deal as well. Meanwhile HRM dealers blowing up our phone to come back to "make a deal" lol.....yeah right.

That's why I'm buying new Taco in Truro.

Has anyone recently negotiated undercoating? I've never had it done but my previous Tacoma frame started rusting heavily after 1 winter, so may do it this time.

I'd research what the dealer uses or outsources for undercoating first. I also wouldn't finance any undercoating.
