You mentioned home grown accessory wiring (which would take some time for me to re-figure out on my truck) and I have bedstiffeners, too, which might be an extra couple bolts to remove.

Getting my shell off might be the trickiest. No great way to pick it up. Might can slide some 2x4’s with eye hooks underneath and grab it with the bucket if it’ll reach up and over that far. If not I guess I’ll ratchet strap it to the garage ceiling. Have you ever dropped the gas tank? Luckily I filled up today, so it should be nice and heavy for me.

I doubt I’ll have enough room to get in there to box the frame unless I do. Hopefully not, but also I’m not sure how I feel about welding next to a full tank of gas haha

Is there enough slack in everything to just drop it down on a floor jack or should I disconnect it and move it?

Drop it down with the floor jack enough to reach the top, disconnect the lines/wiring and drag it out

Just don’t do it right after filling it up. Makes it a little more wonky to work with. Run that bitch dry and it makes things much easier

Pulled mine today. It’s actually not terrible. Though mine’s a 05 and some of the clips were a pain in the butt to disconnect. Empty tank made life a lot easier.

For pain in the ass connections, a quick shot of brake clean will often times make them simple in seconds. Brake clean also makes exhaust hangers a breeze.

Getting stoked for the inner fenders. Getting ready for my bumpers and sliders and getting rid of the lower crossmember while I’m at it. My driver front radiator mount is f’d. I bought a rebuilt title and my drive front was in an accident. When I replaced all the suspension my driver front UCA bolt looked like a noodle and took me 2 hours to get the damn thing out. Ideas for the radiator mount? Thinking about just cutting it off and making some custom mounts. The holes aren’t even close to lining up and the bolt was bent.

There's a harness along the back near the tailgate that clips in a few spots for the license plate lights, also the reverse camera.

man that core support looks pretty darn good. wish mine looked that good. If I were you I'd put another cheap soft stock mount in the front, I've had nothing but issues that surfaced really quick when I converted over to poly for a short time. Went back to new stock mounts at all 6 points and it is way better. The front ones are cheap. Just replace when they start giving way is my advice.

I'd recommend dropping it, makes getting in that frame rail easier and less likely your expensive investment goes up in flames. I did it the hard way because I'm dumb and didn't want to drop it.

Yeah I’ve kept it mild since I’ve had my truck. I already did a cab mount relocate so can’t use the stock mounts there. Only had it 2 years and been trying to debate on modding it or getting a side by side. Decided to just go for it the last couple months so got bumpers and sliders and getting the inner fenders are my first mods on this truck. Completely rebuilt my wife’s 98 4 runner so time to move onto something new. I’m probably going to do an inner cage before I get too crazy so hopefully that will prevent future issues starting with that.

That's your front body mount/core support mount. This is what I would do in your situation sine obviously nothing is where it should be.
You got the inner fenders coming (check)
    Buy new replacement core support
    Cut off old frame mounts.
Install inner fenders and new core support to get a more precise point of where to make new mounts then make new mounts.
Lastly skin the outer frame rail with like 1/8th or 3/16" plate to add some more rigidity. (optional)

If you make new mounts off where stuff is now it may not be right when you get the inner fenders. Now if you keep the old core support then decide to replace it later same thing it may not be right when you put the new one on.

Yeah that’s true didn’t think of that. Maybe I’ll just piece it together till the inner fenders come then make new mounts. My inner fenders are all rippled from the accident. You can tell the auto place tried the best they could to make it look better but it’s pretty bad. So I feel the inner fenders were a better choice than suspension upgrades right now.

It's definitely a big east coast and PNW thing. I'm not a huge fan for several reasons but the biggest thing is bouncing off trees. Like my XJ took a hard ass hit to the DS a-pillar and now I have a busted windshield and it's bent enough to not put a new one in. Exo of course could of protected it. I think of them more as whole body esque type sliders with a little safetyish for slower and not multiple or long roll overs. There was a girl (12)who competes in WeRock drives an Exocaged XJ she rolled down a 30ft drop and everything was folded to the side she's lucky she was small and it didn't fold more.
