This is just what happens when departments dont talk to each other when they design things. One department decides to do things a little different, then other departments find out that their design now doesnt make sense and they have to change it to match the dumb other way.

Wish I could say that but I'll never get used it. Going back and forth between the Tundra, which I consider to be laid out correctly and the Tacoma and the Rav is a PITA

The 2nd Gen Tacoma had the steering wheel button the way the OP would like to turn it to.

I wonder if they did that on purpose so people would talk about it. Kind of like annoying commercials. You hate them, but you remember them. Could have been an attempt to keep the Tacoma forefront in thought since it is different from everybody else.:broccoli:

Yes, upgrade your head unit and install a maestro RR and you can program it however you like.

[I can see your point. Our other vehicle is a 4Runner which is laid out the same way, Dino guess it’s easier for me to get used to. I agree with OP, but in addition I don't understand why the arrows change what preset you're using rather than seeking/scanning. I can easily reach my presets on the head unit but the seek/scan function (and radio dial) are on the other side of the head unit.

Also, why are the radio controls on the left side of the wheel and the buttons for the dash display on the right side?
