I got a little over $3,000 off my 2016 trail (aka 2017-present trd off road). Was a painless deal, once you say your price and you’ll sign today they make a deal.

good advice as there isn’t a Toyota specific undercoating. I’d definitely stick with krown/rust check as they are proven to work.

I rust check my own vehicles and bought a “professional” kit. Takes time and is messy but the underside of my trucks are rust free and I know that I got every area coated.

Same. I like to do my own. Then I know it's done and what it looks like year to year. I use Fluid Film.

Just bought some Fluid Film on sale this week at Peavey Mart. I'll do my Tacoma and 4Runner as soon as it arrives. Will cost $50 or less for two vehicles.

My uncle picked up his 2021 Tacoma from Sherwood Park Toyota and they were absolutely buffoons. And not your average stealership buffoons. Unfortunately I was not involved in the beginning and my uncle is not very business savvy. It went as most encounters went and they asked him how much was his budget and so on. I know the prices went up due to obvious reasons so I did not question the price and they only had him sign an intent to purchase, no contingent bill of sale or anything with numbers other than an estimated monthly payment.

He received a text message congratulating him that he was approved and to make an appointment to come pick up the truck. He called only to speak to another finance manager who was on shift at the time and it turned into a giant shit show about how they could not get him approved and so on. I ended up sending this clown a screenshot of the original messages from the other finance manager only to have him argue that he was not approved. We then had the original finance manager call us apologizing for the confusion.

They then told him how they gave him a free maintenance and free extended warranty plan and all this other wank. We drove from Calgary to pick it up and low and behold non of these items were "Thrown in" as they implied. All paid full price on the bill of sale. In the end he got the Voodoo Blue TRD Sport Premium he wanted and price not too out of line considering the market conditions. so he was happy but it was a nightmare. Stampede Toyota in Calgary was amazing to deal with.

I oiled my vehicles for years and saw some damage from the 50/50 mixture swelling my rubbers etc. This is going to be the first real treatment by Krown so I shall see how good they really are. The treatment is 149.99 for Krown compared to 89.99 for the oil stuff.

Toyota has already said they will be ramping up production starting in December and should be back to full capacity by March, this void in autos won’t last but they way dealers and manufacturers do business will definitely change.

It will be 2 years minimum before things get back to where they were. Toyota makes 250k Tacoma’s a year if they are at 40% capacity for 2-3 months that’s 40k trucks less. Not to mention the rest of their lineup. Ford has massive amounts of inventory sitting right now. I bet they will pay a premium to get chips so they can send them out. Plus all other manufactures. This doesn’t even account for rubber shortages that are going on right now. Next thing they won’t have tires to put on them. It’s not as black and white as ramping up production.

They way people are lining up to buy Tacoma’s at a premium over last year models Toyota probably considering keeping production down on them….. they have also weathered the “shortage “ better than other manufacturers and will probably take a larger market share in the coming year . I don’t think there military contracts for trucks has had any production cuts and I have heard it accounts for upwards of 30% of their global sales .
Most of these “shortages “ of things has been artificially created to increase price and demand . Consumers love to buy stuff especially when they think it’s something exclusive that everyone wants and is super hard to get . Car dealers have never been more profitable and they are achieving it with almost zero inventory….

I heard from a dealer today that if it’s a cash deal they don’t want it for inventory that’s on the ground. Finance deals or a deal with a trade only. If it’s a cash deal it’s order only.

I got a steal of a deal at Northwest Toyota in Edmonton. I did my original deal on a silver 2019 TRD Sport. The dealership had reduced it 5k, it was in the showroom and was the last 2019. It had the tonneau cover, full 3M, and running boards. I wanted Voodoo Blue but wasn’t willing to pay another 6K for it. We were paying cash in full. Paperwork was complete, insurance was arranged, I was about to pick up the truck when the sales manager told me he couldn’t sell me the truck, there was a recall on the chassis and it would take several months to complete. His fix because we had a completed signed deal was to put me in the 2020 Voodoo blue Tacoma for the exact same price with all the same add-ons. He made a duplicate deal on a more expensive vehicle, 2020 instead of 2019, and he ripped up the previous agreement. So I really got lucky.

You ain’t kidding. Southpoint used to be our go to dealer - our family has bought 4 vehicles there. My bro and I went there in early August to do a double deal on a taco and 4Runner. We both put down deposits subject to pricing (as they said it wasn’t released) but promised us up and down that they’d take care of us again - in fairness we’d always gotten great deals in the past. Fast forward a month and a half and everything changed. Started giving us the run around and acting shady. Went in to solidify pricing and it was a total joke, they acted like such asses. Even tried the old ‘our finance guy isn’t in today so you’ll have to come back for your deposits’ crap. Long story short got our deposits back that day and never looked back. Pretty terrible experience and now we won’t go back even when the market is better. Good customer service is still something they can give for free, but some dealers are treating people like things will be like this forever.

It seems the best deal I can find is MSRP. NO DEALS ANYWHERE. That being said if you could find a deal how far would you go to get it and how much would it have to be to make it worth it?

I’d say 2-4L depending on how heavy you put it on. The first application usually takes more as well as you need to get it everywhere.

I have a gun from Princess auto and it has a large diameter tube that goes through product very very quickly, so I don’t use it much anymore.
