    Thanks man!

Yea I was getting really antsy for it towards the end.
I placed the order on 5/3.

Leer's are much quicker to get in. I'd imagine the same for snugtop. It seems that ARE has the longest lead times right now.

Did any of your toppers have a smell to it on the inside?
I assume from the adhesive from attaching the carpeted interior.

How long did it take for it to go away? Did you do anything to expedite that process?
I feel like if I were to sleep in the back of it I would wakeup with a headache or something from the fumes.

My shell is 5 months old now and still smells like carpet glue. I open up the side windows when it's windy out just to let it breathe and it hasn't made much of a difference.

    Dang. Well that's annoying.
Good to hear that it's not too much of a big issue though

I ordered a LEER 100xq on August 31st and was quoted 5-8 weeks. They called yesterday and said they got a shipping invoice saying it’s due to arrive this week. That would be right at the 8 week mark. HOWEVER, I decided against Windoors cause I heard that extends the build time significantly.

Back when I ordered it was the same story. Some pieces of glasses are backordered. Leer will not begin your order till they have all parts. However I'm not sure I would have skipped out on the windoors. Actually I don't think I would have gotten a topper without them period.

When I hear people bash camper shells, I presume it's because they see the shells that dont have windoors.

Windoors are transformative. And sliding windoors especially, if you're gonna be sleeping in the shell.

Yea I agree. I got a taste of what having a topper is like with one I got for free, but couldn't standing having to crawl in and out to move anything around or get to anything.
The mid rise is real nice too to give you that bit of extra headroom but without sticking up too much higher from the cab

I’m glad you all like the windoors but I don’t prefer the look and don’t think I’ll be too upset by not having them.

No windoors. Haven’t noticed not having any. But it’s all personal preference. I’m probably too short anyway for it to make a difference! Lol!

So here's my setup. Took about 1.5months for the shell to arrive at the dealer but I was quoted 2months (I was also told that the windoors would add 2 weeks for labor and material but it came in sooner than expected). When the shell went on about 2weeks ago it dropped the rear lower than the height of the front. I did'nt like the look of this and was worried with gear and other weight, the rear would be sagging more and possibly be riding the bump stops. I was looking for a whole new leaf pack but thought after paying for a new shell, a temporary fix would suffice.

Fortunately I was at an overland meet recently and someone had an AAL for cheap. Threw the AAL on there and it raised the rear ~1inch higher than the front.
Rides great, the suspension holds my weekend gear without a problem. The added head room from the mid-rise shell is very much appreciated (also like how it breaks up the otherwise long roof line from a cab-height model). The windoors have been very useful in the 2weeks I've had the shell. Saw a 1mpg decrease but its only been 1 tank of gas so I hope in time I can get a better average...time will tell.

Nice setup. I have pretty much the same setup….2020 AC with Leer 180.
I’m curious which AAL you installed to help pick up the rear a bit.
    Thanks.

Unfortunately I didnt get a name from the guy (I didnt ask) and the leaves didnt have any identification on them. We sized them up to my truck and stock leaf springs to see if they'd fit/line up with the rest and they did. He was selling them just to get rid of them for $20 bucks so I figured I'd throw them on the truck and worse case, I'd have to take them off and be out $20.

If I'm being honest, they were very likely just spare leaves he had laying around and was selling them as an "AAL" and technically they were haha. Came with the u-bolts and 4 leaves - 2shorter thicker leaves and 2 longer leaves. I had to buy some anti-squeak/friction pads separately.

I did some research and found that adding the longer leaves would ride better and work better with the rest of the pack.

For the results and price, I'm a happy camper. I've been inspecting the springs periodically and they're still working nicely with the rest of the truck. Currently keeping an eye out for any holiday deals on new leaf packs...

I'm not sure what your budget is but people are always upgrading their rigs and selling their practically new parts online for cheap. You should be able to find a few leaves online for cheap and putting them on isnt that difficult.
Just make sure the new leaf setup still has that tier/taper affect, and that the width and thickness is the same as the rest of the leaves.
