They are Alcan's, but they're 4+ years old and see a lot of tough miles. I can't say that I'd consider it a warranty issue. It's a bummer, but in the scheme of things, I'd rather this break than my axle housing or something.

    Oh, wait.

My bushings were shot too when I did the axle housing repair. I was like, "no wonder the rear end is so squeaky," hahahaha.

    IMG_20211023_182410783.jpg
Straightened it on a trailer and then drove it home 4hrs

Make sure you chain it down, a strap just stretches.

My favorite on this style grille is to mask off all the chrome and and respray the black parts with some rattlecan bedliner, makes em look nice and fresh.

I hate how much I want and like this.

That was the original plan before I wanted the Coastal. I don't like losing the higher protection from the NE trees. I need all the height I can get. I felt that this weekend.

Fixed the dying in agony power door lock actuator on the drivers side door. While I was at it, the plastic watershield was missing, so it got replaced with some sound deadener. Much better.

Added this solar panel (only one that worked of 4 even though it’s the only one that had visible signs of damage) to a compartment cover that I have plastic snap buckles holding down so I could tilt if I wanted/needed to. The panel feeds a 20 amp DC-DC charger going to my THOW.

This all lives under a tonneau.C5AF158D-D43E-465D-BA1A-78178AF9F780.jpg5C3675D8-0B28-417A-A863-314C462C1699.jpg

I masked the chrome and sprayed semi gloss black on the grill. Next time I'll take the time to sand it and so forth now that I know it looks decent. Or maybe just spring for the new grille.

Did you use anything to fill in the openings in the interior sheet metal? Or just placed the Killmat over the openings?

Still open. Probable should have fill it in though, in hindsight. However, that's the way the factory waterproof sheet was though, so I guessing I'll be okay. So the Killmat just covers the openings.

Not today...was actually a week ago...but got around to replacing all the gear/front-rear diff fluids....then cleaned up the MAF and Throttle Body.

Also swapped out the transmission mount...I'm trying to resolve for the vibration at idle...it's getting better! Next up is probably the engine mounts. PXL_20211002_123330522.jpg PXL_20211002_131808354.jpg

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Has anyone in here relocated their HVAC controls and head unit? (Moving the HVAC down underneath and moving the head unit up)

Hoping someone has done this with the post 2001 dash board. If so, what was the process, or does anyone have a link to a write up of this being done?

    EDIT --- I found this, I guess I'll start here https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2001-2004-radio-climate-control-relocation.670700/

Still wondering if anyone with experience doing this has any tips or pointers.
