The top plates on my u-bolt flip kit are very thick. Thicker than any metal I've seen for sale at a box store. I'd also assume that the little bends on the end are there for rigidity. That being a sort of critical component, I'd probably order the real thing. Maybe call 4WP or ORW and see if they have them in stock.

Thanks guys. I thought about getting longer u bolts and putting it back together the oem way but since I have the flip kit bolts I decided to searh for those icon plates.. I called and searched every site. I ended up ordering some from Morris 4x4. The site said they were in stock where every other site said it could take weeks to get them. I just really hope the site wasn't wrong.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Sorry I didn’t get back with you on this. I was deep in food and music last night brutha. Lucas Nelson and The Promise of the Real, was one of the best shows I have seen!

I am glad you got it all sorted.

I'm glad you had a rad time. I just freaked out a little. I had already installed the front and the top nuts on the rear shocks where being difficult to get off. So I kind of messed them up and was afraid to put them back on. Where as the new shocks are a few inches longer than the old ones and was afraid to put those on without changing the leaf pack. It was just unfortunate that I didn't catch the u bolt issue until I was at that point. So now the truck is down until I get the plate. Luckily we have other vehicles. I just really hope the plate comes soon. Some site like summit racing said they wouldn't have it until January. Most other sites said 4 weeks. My only other solution if they don't ship soon is there's a place called Nash trucks in Athens than can make me longer u bolts to install it the oem way.

glad you got it sorted as well.

Icon isn't the only brand. Many places carry the Toytec ones as well, which is what I have. If Morris4x4 falls through, that could be another option.

I don't really have the 200 bucks to spare this weekend. What's the purpose of upgrading the bumstop by the way? I think of it more of fast off road driving which I don't go places to do that or have my truck built for that.

It amazes me how quickly my OEM springs went inverted. I mean they were kinda flat from when I drove it off the lot.
I hit bump stomps with an unloaded bed on day 1.
However, I did get all 4 tires off the ground jumping a railroad track! I had to see what all the hype was…it handled it surprisingly well

Gotcha. I don't see that happening this weekend though. Today is our 5 year anniversary so I have a lot I'm suppose to be doing this weekend. Haha

Tacoma's use a flat leaf design so the factory springs never really look arched to begin with. I think he used a 3 leaf aal in that pack with should have made them much better, esp if you're no weight in the rear.

Yeah it has the icon progressive 3leaf aal. I do have a camper shell. Jb said he was using the pack with his current set up so I felt they should be fine for me.

I have a single all in mine with a shell. It's okay but sags some. You're in a way better position than me with your 3 leaf aal .

Nah bro, I was commenting on how all new Tacoma leafs are under sprung. Aka, they should come with an AAL like you got from me!
For your purposes the leafs will do you great, the more leafs you have e better and the less the harsh the ride will be.

I have built so many trucks that it just amazing me, how it’s standard for tacos to be undersprung.
