Hi all, I have a 2014 with 90k on it and still running the original filter in my secondary air pump. I was planning on doing the uni filter mod but i am also planning on doing the cowel intake mod. No I am never driving in water past my filter but have heard the horror stories of dudes driving thru big puddles and taking in water. I live a pretty puddly place and i am moving to an even more puddly place soon and would rather not worry about it when I am having fun. So my question is this: what about the secondary air pump? water certainly splashes up by it and with the filter just sitting there it is bound to suck up moisture as well. What is a solution to this? Can i run that into my cowel along with the intake? What do dudes with snorkels do for this? Or am i just dumb? TIA

Ill bet most that have a snorkel never even think about the SAIS system if they have it (let alone stuff like breathers for diffs, trans, tcase etc).

For your situation, i wouldnt be worried, puddle hopping and water ingestion of the motor happens from time to time due to the nature of where the intake is OUTSIDE of the front inner fender, but the SAIS is tucked up and away high and on the inside of the front fender shielded, and the SAIS only runs on startup and shutdown (2013 and above) v6s.

I would agree after looking at it some more. Still plan on doing the cowl mod tho just for my piece of mind. Everytime im about to hit a big one on my right side i cringe just hoping that i am good lol. But yes ill leave the SAIS alone after i throw that little filter on there. Thank you!
