Well im going to buy some black 16 trd” wheels=950
And im gona add them to the stock tires
( 265/70R/16 ) and once those tires are gone, ill get some 285/75/16 but the tires will be in like 4 years.
    so basically wheels = 950
With labor work= 250 maybe (if im lucky lol )
And then a lift for the front to basically even it out with the rear because im not getting 17” tires so i dont need much of a lift tbh. I just want a 2” lift to basically even it out with the rear and for looks. = $$$?

if you guys really recommend me to pay up to a 1000 for lift kit then ill wait till next year to do that. But if u guys thing the front lift is enough for what im looking for then plz let me know. Like i mention i dont go off roading much and if i do it basically just for an easy trail ride nothing crazy.

Yea so if its basically an inch difference, then that means that when i add the 2” lift in the front, the rear will be short an inch. So basically means it wont be even. But if thats the case i can just add an inch lift in the front so it can just be even. But i will ask the person who does the job for me to basically even them out. But anyways thanks for your help i appreciate bro. U helped a lot

Some good advice given and some not so good advice given above.

Do you want to lift your truck or do you want to level the front to the rear?

If you want to just level your truck the Bilstein 5100 adjustable front struts are all you need.

You will have the option of snap ring locations with the use of your factory coils.
    1st notch = stock height
    2nd notch = 0.65"
3rd notch =1.1" (this is what I ride with)
    4th notch = 1.55"
    5th notch = 2".

There is a big misconception of compressing the spring and making a stiff rough ride, this is false and untrue.
Do your own research, call and speak with Bilstein who understands the geometry and how these shocks allow for adjustment creating lift without changing the compression of the coil. They work just fine with your factory coils as that is what they are intended for. Yes you may run other coils as many are available and on the market.

With the 3rd notch setting used 1.1" my truck front end is just a hair taller than the back of my truck.
Yes the valving inside a Bilstein 5100 is different that the valving in the struts that came on your truck.

Your truck is very capable Off roading the way it is. Try wheeling your truck stock where you plan on wheeling then decide if you need to lift or level. Tire hight is the only way to gain ground clearance.

You need to do a lot of research if you plan on running 285/75/16 a lot of clearance issues and you'll be looking at wheel spacing & possibly a CMC.

Best wishes and enjoy your love hate relationship with your truck!

How many coil overs have you run?

5100's do get rougher as you increase clips, no matter what bilstiens youtube says.

You have to sacrifice something to raise the truck up in the front. You don't just get "free lift"

Other truck forums report the same thing, but for some reason here we have people defending even the 5th clip setting.

5100s are better than hockey pucks, but nothing beats a properly engineered coil.

Even if the spring rate and preload is done correctly, by using a coil to lift, wouldn’t you still be losing travel? Or did I interpret that point incorrectly?

I did 5100's up front and set it at the top 2" lift. Stock coils, (as per Bilstein recommendation). I didnt replace the rear shocks, as I am fine with my OR Bilstein shocks. Added a 1" rear block.

This is basically the OEM TRD lift, at more than half the price.

Damn dude thanks yea i think im just going to go with the Bilstein for now. And then if i do want to get 285’s in the future ill get a better lift kit but for now i think Bilstein is more than enough. Thank you

Correct me if i’m wrong cause i too and new to this, but a proper leveling lift would be 2inches in the front (making it the highest adjustment on the 5100s) and 1 inch in the rear with just a block spacer. right? add a leaf is more for a 3/2 lift right? 3/2 lift is still a level lift but it’s just sitting higher off the ground.

I have also lifted my 21 4x4 with Bilstein 5100s front and rear with a Icon add add a leaf ( 3 leads )
Using the stock front spring and removing the over load. 2" front and about 1-1/4 in the rear so the truck
Is level and it does not have a harsh ride at all .

No cons, rides like factory. Only had the lift a few months now. NO REGRETS.
Correct. Or you could just do 1" in front, and nothing in the rear.

Unfortunately I cannot comment on your add a leaf comment, as I went 1" block.

    Again NO REGRETS.

Where did you buy your 5100's & block? I'm going that direction, myself.
