Did a (first ever) compression test on the cylinders. I'm not too pleased with the results. Even though the truck seems to run fine I'm below the minimum on #2, #3 and #4 cylinders. Any advice? I could do a leakdown test next (thanks to Timmy for the great videos).

Did you do it with the engine fully warmed up and with no spark plugs in any hole (throttle wide open with fuel pump off)... that's the procedure. You're very low on comp if you did, this engine should be barely functional

Yup, I did all that, but instead of disconnecting the fuel pump I pulled the EFI relay. Engine stutters once in a while (v. rarely) under acceleration. Good gas mileage and drives good, as far as I can tell.

Hopefully it's just a valvejob away from higher numbers then. That's pretty low, the 5VZ should be at 175psi or higher usually. How many miles are on this engine (I remember you said something was replaced)

382K on the heads, 327k on the block (16 yrs). It's possible I erred in my procedure, though, like not getting the hose fitting tight enough. I'll get a leakdown tester and run the compression test again to make sure.

This is mainly for my Land Cruiser but will be used with my truck as well. I had a custom cutting board made for the tailgate from TAP plastics. 51x12x1/2 inch HDPE food grade plastic. 60 buckaroos!

Really nice 62 Series! I've always got my eye out for one, love the looks and the spartan interior is just great classic Toyota.

    I've got an 80

Very nice! I actually might be picking up a 96 80 series with 135k original miles. My neighbor has one with a blown motor and a few other things that need attention. She doen't realize it's going to cost like 12k to get it going. I've been offering her $2500 for the cruiser and would do the work myself of course to get it road worthy. Its not triple locked.

You might like my other cruiser too :p

I did this a few months ago but it's one of Ethans front skid plates. Stainless with TRD cutout.

That looks really good. I'm just weeks away from the exact same Shrockworks bumper.
