And they sold me one without the modifications. Looks like they’ll get a call Monday... assholes

Did you just lop off the rear a bit, or trim down to fit under the hab?

Lol yeah it's like a plastic composite lock that came with my water port, needles to say, it's just functioning as a carabineer.

After weeks of a grossly one-sided effort, I finally got closure with CBI for the Prinsu Habrack that doesn’t fit a Tacoma with a Habitat.

They would not respond to emails, and wouldn’t follow up on their promises to get their design folks and customer service folks to make it right. Even offered to help them work the issue and change the design so it would actually fucking fit a truck it’s designed for.... nothing. Not a peep.

Then I email them making an offer. Refund me a portion of what I paid so I could have the rack modified to fit. After weeks of no responses I got an email agreeing to the terms and a refund notification from PayPal... in less than 12hrs.

This is the third part I’ve purchased from them that I had issues with. Third times the charm. I’ll will be hard pressed to buy anything from them again, or recommend them to others.

If you are set on buying their rack, expect it not to fit. Here’s the cut I made with the portable band saw. Used some VW wheel touchup paint to cover the aluminum after smoothing with a sanding flapper wheel.

I have the hab rack on a third GEN Tacoma with the AT habitat and it all fits well. No modifications at all.

Must be a 3rd gen thing?

Can you post a pic of the rear of the rack and the front of the Habitat? I’m curious to see how they work together.

looks good! good cut. good on making them answer. I guess they(CBI) do not know there was a SECOND gen Tacoma, that the rack system was originally designed for.
your cut looks much better than mine does. yep, clearly the Habitat rack from CBI does not fit a second gen Tacoma without modification. would have been cheaper to buy the original second gen full cab rack and cut it to fit with the Habitat in place, since they placed an upcharge on the concept of "Habitat rack" total bogus marketing ploy

It’s not just the rack, they’ve moved on from all but the newest models. This is gleaned from my last few conversations with their staff. Here’s something I asked before dropping coin on their rear bumper.

    51468F33-C45D-4C46-823E-559A40A1C49A.jpg

Guess what feature my bumper most certainly does not have? When I called them I got the answer of “oh a 2nd gen, yeah we didn’t bother updating those to the newer design, it’s too old.”

Thankfully I got the rack during the Memorial Day sale. With the discount and refund for having to make the damn thing work, I’m right where I’d be had I bought a used cabrack and cut it down, maybe even a bit less. Third product from them where I didn’t get what was advertised. What’s the definition of insanity?

The third Gen bedsides are like 1" taller, possibly more. Maybe it's enough to clear?

One inch may allow it to tuck right under the hab.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Yep, it’s a prime example of how a marketing firm can jazz up your promotions, a couple vehicles wraps, then you make some YouTube vids, maybe ad a smile to it… but your customer service blows so bad, you may as well sell out before you tarnish your entire brand. I have had similar issues with them.

a little harsh? Ain’t nobody got time for that :)

I am, but it is a standard double cab rack that I cut to fit under the Habitat. I had the Habitat Rack on initially, but with a long bed, there is a pretty good gap between the rack and the Habitat.

I still have the Habitat rack is anyone is looking for one.

Damn!! Had I known a couple months ago!!! [shakes fist at sky daddy]

I can only imagine how massive that gap would be on a long bed, oof.

Now I need to figure out what to put up there.
