Camper bed cap, led fog lights, LED/HID upgrade kits for highs & lows, custom paint job, +/- 4" lift (more like 3" on the driver's side and 5" on passenger side...gotta love the taco lean), big 5 wire upgrade, custom painted interior, satin black paint job that looks like shit because it was my first time painting a vehicle, custom audio system and a big booty butt load of random off road and work lights. That being said it is a DLX and I really didn't need to do any mods because obviously it's the DELUXE edition
Ive tinted a few windows in my day and in my opinion first gen tacos are, for some reason, harder than most other vehicles I've done to get that professional looking end result. With the rear window being the exception that's about as easy as it gets.

Thanks! That bumper saved my truck. In November of 2019 I was on a rescue mission to pull a 4runner out of a ditch (you can see it in the first picture) and a Tundra lost traction and went straight into my truck. I was not inside the truck. Luckily it hit my front bumper first and then went sideways and into my sliders. The initial hit was zero damage to my truck. It wasn't until a silverado hit the Tundra and the Tundra then hit my car AGAIN that it sustained damage. Both the Tundra and Silverado were totaled and my truck sustained minimal damage. Just a scuff on the bumper and a dent on my drivers door. My truck was straight on the road when I got hit. You can see how much it jumped...

Slick leaves combined with a trail that was off camber literally the whole time led to us both denting our drivers sides.

I hope there was some good-natured ribbing about “4LOPRO” needing a 3-block rig to straighten his truck out :p

Had a few free hours today, so I replaced my winch line, and relocated the control box into the engine bay. Then finally got around to mounting my bed rack and RTT up. Ready for my days off!

Sorry to revive the old post. What size did you get these in? And how much lift you running about up front about? Thanks. 95% sure I’ll be getting these next.

I have around 2-2.5" up front I think. Closer to 2. Rear is high in photos as it is setup for more weight back there for trips.

always lol and the most frustrating part was we couldn’t even test to see if that rigging would have worked. His line came undone even with a full wrap on it and the drum was just spinning free inside the wrap. He ended up just needing to drive out of it and caught some nasty body glamage in the process.

I think this pic better represents the hill:

    1520B4BD-F965-4A4C-A8E8-851904C0D84A.jpg

Basically the entire trail was trying to stay on the high side of the hill as best as possible even though it feels hella tippy, knowing you are going to slide forward and down as you drive forward. Not a trail I plan on running again anytime soon.

oh and first gen related.. rebuilt my washer res again:

What kind of winch? I've had bad luck with winches that use a screw anchor to lock the end of the line to the drum - even with a full wrap left on the drum there is still tension on the end of the line that eventually causes the screw to fail and then the drum just spins. Warn uses a wedge anchor that locks through the drum, basically impossible to fail if you install it correctly. I'm sure there are other brands that use that kind of attachment too.

That's right behind where I patched it before. I'm thinking of just chopping the rear of the truck off right in front of the rear cab mount a building and new rear frame.

Right now the list includes a bed platform, re-make the tent rack, and making a mount for a rear facing winch.

The tent rack now is all 7 gauge wall. WAY over built, and more weight than needed. I'm going to re-build it in 14 guage, reconfigure it a bit, and lower the tent around 4 or 5 inches. While I'm in it, I'm also going to mount camp lights on the sides and back, and a cargo light in the bed area, as well as high mount turn signals on the upper outer corners, and I'm going to mount my license plate on the rack. My license plate has been beat to shit mounted on the bumper, and I don't want it on the swing out because I'd have to deal with wires to the swing out for the license plate lights.

Once I make the new RTT rack, I'm going to repurpose the old RTT rack by cutting it up and making a welding table out of it.

Looks minty, I'm kinda having regrets about not rebuilding my entire rear frame, seems like it would have been a whole lot smarter than whatever the hell I'm doing

You swapping the frame? I was looking at running some X braces back there, then seeing the rot and having to rearrange a bunch of stuff it would be easier to hack it all off and start fresh, this way I can raise the fuel tank and re do my shock mounts as well. The metal under the cab is in good shape, when I'm done I'll have about 4ft of original frame left LOL!!

Mine had the rot at the leaf hangars and I was itching to replace the suspension anyway. I cleaned it all and put sandwich replacement/bracing pieces on. It's plenty strong, way stronger than it was stock and the metal is plenty thick still but for all the time it took me I could have built it out of 2x3 or 2x4 rec tube and been ahead of the game in strength since I'm going to have to relieve the frame in a few sections to make pockets for shocks to pass through anyway.
