Will a 3rd brake light from a 2016+ crew cab fit an access cab or is the body line different?

    I’m 99% certain it won’t fit.

The assemblies and how they mount are different. If you look in the owner's manual you'll see for the access cab, you're given a procedure to replace burned out bulbs (remove two phillips screws). But for double cabs, it just says take it to the dealer. This is because the double cab assembly has threaded studs which are secured via nuts from the inside of the cab. You have to drop the headliner to get to these nuts.

The double cab assembly is the one which has leaked for years with multiple TSBs and now a recall. So you don't want that one anyway.

^ This, the access cab light doesn’t include cargo lights and mounts from the outside. It’s the same light as on previous generations. No idea why Toyota did that but they do a lot of weird stuff that’s hard to explain.

I like the look of the DC 3rd brake light, and think cargo lights are a welcome addition.

Couldn't Toyota have added cargo lights to the existing brake light carrying it over from the 2g?

How often do people use cargo lights? Most people could get by with out them. Especially if they add bed lights.

Toyota should have made the brake light accessible for changing out bulbs when they fail.

I ended up adding cargo lights to my access cab. I was inspired by @MESO with his early 3d printed lights.
