My first week in a Tacoma

So, I originally planned on getting a Tacoma about 3 years ago, but I came across a good deal on a TRD Pro Tundra and got that. I like the Tundra, but its size is sometimes too big and always think the Tacoma would be just fine for my needs.

I never spent any real time in the Tacoma until this week. I have one from my dealer for a week as the Tundra is in service. Many reviews on the Tacoma indicate the seat is too low or that the floor is too high making for an unpleasant long tip. I spent 280 miles on the highway with it today and I enjoyed it. I found that I have more room leg room in the Tacoma than the Tundra. I liked being close to the floor because I could put my feet and legs in many different positions, and I could stretch my legs out all the way. Does anyone else think the same? The only complaint compared to the Tacoma has more road noise than the Tundra.

    Welcome to the forum :hattip:.

A lot of the complaints with the Tacoma seat (mine included) is the lack of thigh support. Many folks have added seat jackers from Desert Does It and found instant relief, again myself included. The newer Tacoma (2020+) have a power seat that might fix the problem.

Who cares about complaints if it works for you… it also works for 1/4 of a million people annually. So the reviews can suck it

I find the comfort level in the Tacoma to be acceptable. I think the seat jackers might make it a little more comfortable but what I really think would be best if the steering wheel telescope out a couple inches more. For stretching my legs out.

I have a '20 Off-Road with electric seat that did not provide me with the thigh support that I needed; seat jackers were the solution...very comfortable now.

I actually like the seating position in my Tacoma. I prefer the seat being lower than the higher position in Tundras.
Long drives in my Sequoia , I need to stop more often to get out and stretch my legs.

Tacomaworld is really good at giving people issues to look for that most would’ve never thought of or ever noticed otherwise.

I had a 1st generation tundra, and thought the seating position was better than my 2020 tacoma, being the 1st tacoma ever owned. After playing with the power seat some i was able to find it acceptable. It took more getting use to the choppy ride of the tacoma, but gradually the suspension settled in some where its now acceptable. All in all i've gotten to like the tacoma more every time i drive it.

Iwas able to play with the power seat switch's in conjunction with the articulating steering wheel to get a decent seating position.

Yes, it makes a big difference. I did not like my 2017 with the fixed height.

I never had a problem with up to 28 hours of non-stop driving in my 97. Did not have any issues with the 2,000 mile plus drive to get my 2021 up to AK either.

I find the Tacoma to be comfortable. I put 5k miles on mine in 5 weeks recently. No issues.

I have short legs (thighs) and I lifted the rear of the driver's seat only, using longer bolts and a bunch of washers to give me about 3/4" lift in the rear of the seat, increasing comfort.

+1 for the seat jackers. They are awesome. I'm 6'3".
