You have modify the power supply or use one of the longer ones he’s making to tie into the fuse box. Also, on my Kenwood, the OEM mic was either scratchy or echo-y. I played with the settings on the unit a lot but could never seem to get it clear. It’s likely my head unit. It was a refurb and has had a few other issues.

I didn't realize you made this for my exact head unit and it was this easy to install. Joined the waitlist.

Hey guys! Just want to share this for those of you with aftermarket HU and iPhones. Go to iPhone Settings>Accessibility>Touch>Call Audio Routing> Check "Bluetooth Headset". The echoing and feedback occurs when phone speaker and the HU Mic are both activated. It's worth a try until the waitlist are fulfilled. My GF said the Feedback and echoing is gone. She can only hear a bit of the road noise. Which can probably solved by adding one of those "MIC foam"...Hope this helps...until then. I can't wait to get one of these adapters for my Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX.

@Electrify135, I'm actually looking for testers to test the 2020+ version of the adapter. The conditions of being a tester are as follows:
    • You own a US version of the 2020+ Toyota Tacoma (the truck needs to have SOS functionality.)
    • You possess the technical/mechanical skills required to install the adapter.
    • You can install the adapter within 1 to 2 weeks after receipt and report back on its viability.
    • You'd be willing to take some pictures of the adapter installed in your truck before reinstalling the head unit that I could use to help build an installation guide.
    • For your time and assistance, the adapter is yours to keep and use in your truck.
If you're interested and willing to abide by the above conditions, please PM me directly and I'll make arrangements to get you one of the adapters.

    Thanks!

    -Tom

Hey tom when are they back in stock? Also I have a 2019 4runner if you want to test a new version for that.

Does this unbalance the output or strip any power out of the signal line? I'm curious if doing those things would have any benefit to the sound quality since its a condenser mic. Sorry the noob question.

No, the mic signal only passes through the adapter and remains unaltered. Also, it's not entirely clear the mic contained with the overhead OEM telephony/mic module is a condenser mic (I've never dissected one as it wasn't necessary in the development of this adapter.) It's quite possible it's a dynamic mic with an onboard pre-amp; however, whether it's a condenser or dynamic mic is irrelevant as the OEM telephony/mic module is an encapsulated assembly. The Tombit mic adapter simply supplies power to the telephony/mic module assembly and then routes the unaltered mic-level signal coming from the telephony/mic module assembly to the 3.5mm TS jack, which allows the end-user to use a 3.5mm TS cable to pipe the unaltered mic signal into the aftermarket head unit. That's all there is to it.

    Hope that helps!

A few days...The pictures below show the current batch of ATC/ATO and Low-Profile mini fuse adapters. The ones that are bagged have been QA'd, the ones that are unbagged need to be QA'd and I need to get the PCBs in the final image wired up, into enclosures and QA'd and then I'll release the next batch.

Not to take away from what op is building, I am going to still buy one. You can put together your own adapter for about $40 plus about an hour of build time. Mine is certainly not as pretty as OPs and isn't plug n play. But it works and I needed it
