Battery packs are completely sealed. It's possible that the seal could be compromised and water gets in, but it's no different than the possibility of it happening to a combustion engine vehicle. Plus, no need to worry about water getting into the intake.

Not personally but I’m sure many have. Super easy trail.

I did personally see a modified legacy do top of the world.

Want me to post the vid of a stock Kia doing hells gate?

Can they also do 0-60 in 3 sec flat and tow 11000 lbs. I'm more interested in that

I'm really curious how the hub motor concept plays out offroad long term versus a transfer case, axles and lockers. Its such a different setup, with the right controls is should be amazing. No CVs to break, gobs of torque right at 0RPM, no need for lockers - and you can control torque at each wheel independently (in theory, not sure how its implemented).

Still ugly, but not ugly enough to keep me from buying one if I won the lottery that I don't play.

The rivian doesn't use hub motors. They are inboard central at each wheel.

Still having a motor at each wheel and no diffs has big advantages as far as traction and clearance.

I know why the R1T does not excite me. The Rivian is designed as a lifestyle vehicle. Not interested. The Rivian is a BEV, I am not into EVs.

The Rivian might be a great truck in the capacity that it's designed for.

Ya I’m curious what the range will be towing that. Regular gas motors are getting twice the range without a load already. BUT is anyone buying this to tow? Not sure.

I’ve only seen them irl during trips to CA

I’d imagine at least half its normal range while towing that weight based off current battery tech.

Places that get cold will also have much shorter range in sub 0

Well i dunno what a lifestyle vehicle is but their marketing is that it's an 'Adventure Vehicle', not a lifestyle vehicle.

It’s definitely not an adventure vehicle. Can’t stop and plug in everywhere and no one wants to wait hours to charge.

It’s basically a local vehicle that you drive around town and maybe take out on the weekends to a local park etc.

An adventure vehicle is a lifestyle vehicle. Which is cool if that's what you want. Any midsize pick up, among other vehicles could be an adventure vehicle.

I think it's going to take more than lifestyle and BEV technology to move Rivians.
