I just installed these fog lights from ebay
    http://www.ebay.ca/itm/271016053583

and also bought the appropriate fog light switch that fits properly into the dash slot and the plug fits perfectly in the back of the switch.

My truck is pre-wired so I just plugged the wires into the lights. There was already a 15a fuse but had to get a 30a relay (bought from NAPA).

So as it stands now, when I turn on the headlights, the fog light switch illuminates. I turn on the fog lights and nothing happens. The light indicator does not come on nor the lights.

Even if the bulbs were gone, I'd figure the switch indicator would come on. And the bulbs look good anyway.

I can't find anything else I may need to do. Any help/advise is greatly appreciated!

If you have the FJ switch, the indicator light will not come on... the Tacoma harness is a 4-wire, the FJ switch is a 6-wire. The extra two on top are for the indicator light and are not in the Tacoma harness.

But if the dash illumination is working, then the other two pins should be wired correctly and everything should be working.

You mentioned the 15a fuse... that one is under the hood, correct?
Double check the fuse panel under the dash and see if there is a fog fuse there.
The system is two separate circuits and the 15a fuse is only going to feed the relay and the lights. The switch would be fed from a separate circuit that is switched from the headlights.

You need the relay that plugs into the fuse block under the hood in the engine compartment. It's only $10 or $15 but they won't work without it. I can't help you with the part number but it's a common part that many vehicles use. Maybe someone else knows the part number.

pics or diagram of how you wired it would make it really easy to diagnose, bud.

    The switch I have,
    http://www.purefjcruiser.com/fj-fog-light-switch-harness-p-3820.html
is indeed the 6-pin. I did see a 4-pin harness inside the dash so I'm guessing that is for the fog lights. So the 6-pin harness I have plugged into the switch must be for something else.

I couldn't find a fog fuse under the dash. But that is a mute point given the situation I just described above.

So I'm going to have to try and connect the 6-pin switch to the 4-pin harness.

@Hossdawson: I have the relay already.

@Bradley: my truch was pre-wired for fog lights so I didn't have to wire up anything.

    Thanks for the help guys.

    Yup... that's the problem there.
The 6-pin harness, if it is one of the top 3 blanks on the black part of the dash, I believe is for the AC inverter (center position).
Fogs go next to the door on the 4-pin.

If you bought the full $75 kit with switch and harness and just tossed the harness in the toolbox, buy the Tacoma 4-wire switch for about $40 and sell that kit on the marketplace for $65 to one of us who doesn't have a prewired truck.

Both harnesses were in the lower group of slots, the non-black area.

But you have a good idea....sell the wires that came with my fog light kit. I'll sell the FJ switch too if I can get the bastard out of the dash lol

Just an update. I got the lights working. There was another (third) harness in the upper set of slots that was hard to access from behind with my hand but I managed to get it up there through the coin tray. I jumped the blue and white wires and the lights came on. :)

Just my two cents. But LED’s are polarized did you try reversing the plug at the fog lights

does anyone know the part number for the large fuse in the engine fuse box?
or it might be a relay.

I'm having the same problem. Trying to use the factory harness, with aftermarket LED foglights. I've got the correct 4 pin switch (factory OEM), with the relay installed in the fusebox and the 15A fuse in place. The switch light kicks on, but can anyone tell me- are there two 4 pin switches up there? Could I have connected to the wrong harness? Thank you! (also- I tried reversing the harness connection between the fog light and harness- no dice.
