It’s that time again, tires are starting to get worn so I’m looking at these as a replacement

What scale is it? Also what brand? I have 3 1:18th scale AutoArt FJ Crusiers, and they are cool looking. But that looks good with the bigger tires!

Light it on fire, put it out, buy house for 100k less due to fire damage.

True, but that being said, I feel like the deltas haven't really changed. Like, when I bought my house my ultimate goal house was 200kish more than what I bought my house for. My house has done up a solid 150k since I bought it, but that next step house is still about 200kish more than what I could get for mine. Shifting towns can impact that, but when I bought my house what I wanted in the town I wanted would have been 50k more.

You're getting as bad as me about changing up wheels!

    Love it, details!

I told myself I was done collecting and I bought another last night. I hit my QuickJack fund to do it :( I'm a weak, weak man.

Yeah, my dad just bought a couple of 4x4 1:18 scale models, a CHP Ford Bronco, and the Fall Guy Chevy truck. Both have some good details!

Awesome! I got a Jouef 300ZX. I overpaid, but they're all stupid expensive. I wanted the Kyosho version (the Jouef is a de-contented Kyosho) but I wasn't about to pay that much for it. The one I bought actually looks like it's been detailed out by someone to more closely match the Kyosho one, which is neat. There was a similarly priced real-deal one a few weeks back I kicked myself about not buying, so I went for this. I still want their Supra and RX-7, but when damaged ones are selling for $200+ I just can't do it. If I go too far down that rabbit hole I end up panhandling for diecast. I'm just awaiting a 1990-1993 Accord, 84-95 Toyota Pickup or 2012+ Tacoma to show up.

Maybe with the frequency of swapping wheels, but I’m actually selling the old sets off! My process is get new wheels/tires, run them for 30ish thousand miles, then unload them. They’re worn at that time but still have plenty of tread to fetch a good price. I end up with brand new wheels and tires for a couple hundred bucks in the end and never have to deal with a tire shop or have the big $1,200+ hit of buying new tires. I’ve been doing it since I had my Tacoma and it seems to be working. This time though, I will miss the black wheels…

My 4Runner survived this crater on route 6! I might have to have the alignment checked though.

Since you have photo evidence you may be able to get reimbursed for damages from the state. I heard something about that a while back. Not sure how it works in each state though

I'll have to look everything over when I get a chance. This is in Providence. Last time I looked into something like this, I heard they only pay out $300 for hitting a pothole. This is way more than a pothole though.

 Yeah, that ain't no pothole, that's a crater! I hate RI roadwork contractors, they never can get anything right...

Usually you have to proove that the state had reasonable warning etc. So like if I report a giant crater today and then someone hits it tomorrow and the state hasn't gone out to block or or repair it and has just said F it, then they're liable. But let's say a truck a few cars ahead of you drops an anvil and opens up a pot hole that damages your car - states not on the hook, since they didn't have a reasonable expectation to prevent that damage.

If it's just the alignment I wouldn't even bother. If it ends up being a lot more I would.

Come see East Providence. 114 they just ripped up the entire road for water main. And instead of repaving it - they repaved only the part they tore up. Which was about 50% of it. So now it's patch worked together and rough as hell. But that's across all of east Providence. They let the utilities rip up the roads and then only patch the pavement it's shenanigans.

But. Anyone who bitches about roads out here - send them to Michigan. Good Lord - what mess. After driving out there in October, the time when the roads are most repaired and least torn up by plows and thermal shocks, the roads are a disaster.

Our roads aren't great but damn - they're leagues better than out there.

The utilities issue seems to be statewide or at least heavily developed areas. Wish the state would hold utility contractors to a higher standard, but that’s far too much of an ask for a RI state run organization like the DOT. Never been to Michigan but I’ll take your word for it lol

Don't worry, I will be out there soon to pick up that front driveshaft. It is like that everywhere in the state though, projects dig up the roads, and they repave the project half-assed, and it stays that way for few years, until the town/state repaves the road completely (but all of the man hole covers are still a couple inches short of the new pavement). :annoyed:

Where about on RT 6? I wish they could just get a road project right the first time! Not even looking for it to be finished on time. Just not, started - stopped - undone - redone only to figure they didn’t plan it right to begin with.
