This is what happened when I took mine off, but I like how it looks without it so I just deal with it.

    It worked on me! LOL

But on a serious note...I wasn't going to be OFF ROADing so it was a "bonus" that the Sport came with...

Yes, I've heard the feedback about having a 4X4 and street driving but it's all opinion. Am I gonna fall into that pit of worrying what others think because I spent my money on a 4X4? Not likely.

It's interesting to get all this feedback about a simple design...is it useful...does it have a purpose? ONE can have this discussion all day long and have banter/disagreements on here but at the end of the day, it's your truck...and you worked hard to buy it...I'm giving people the benefit of the doubt on that.

Enjoy your Tacoma and ignore what others think...unless it's a SAFETY concern.

    Ed

Ya, an air damn is proven to improve aerodynamics by blocking the air from flowing over the rough surfaces of the undercarriage and improving gas mileage.
    Is it measurable? Not sure.
I’m I a sophisticated enough of a driver to tell the difference? Probably not.
But on my particular truck I like the looks of it.

I would like to get rid of the extra height and vision blockage that the non functional hood scoop causes. It is a real danger when cresting the hill only a mile from my home. One lane, steep grade coming and going. Solid rock walls on both sides. I slow to a crawl, but still want to see better...

I plan to remove it and put in a blank off filler. but I'm worried that a cross wind will blow me off the road if I do ;-)

Those little fins are for wind noise. Air dam will drop drag coefficient by 0
000045. It is to show a Sport is different than an offroad.

I went to a psychic. She read my palm and dropped this knowledge. I believe her.
However the little fins thing is true. Have used similar models for noise in fluid dynamics.

Sometimes I put the hi-lift jack in the truck bed LOOSE. I'm not sure why, it's worthless around vehicles, and a real danger in a wreck. But I just like it back there.
When I was a kid, we called them "tractor jacks", and by garry, they work pretty good for jacking up tractors!

It took a little getting use to...seeing that "hump" on the hood. It hasn't been a hindrance in my driving like when I had a bull horn type bumper on my 2003 Honda Pilot. I actually tapped a JEEP once on the spare tire because I didn't gauge the extra distance very well.

It all depends on what the driver is comfortable with in driving...at least, that's how I see it.

If you're running stock oem tires, I'd hide them under a skirt as well ;)

Trimmed mine just to hide the ugly bolts. I’m pretty sure Toyota put it on for a reason, probably to squeeze a 10th or more of a point at X miles an hour at highway speeds. If everyone cared about the manufacturers idea of what needs to on the vehicle, nobody would lift their trucks. I wonder how many of the guys stating their truck is now unstable have a lift, oversized tires or made any other mods? Apples to apples would be remove it and drive it 80-90 on the freeway and see if it makes any difference. The only thing I know for certain is it’s FUGLY!!!

I would tend to believe this.
And maybe I DO want my truck to look different than an OR.

You want it to look like a pro, not the lowly OR
