It’s not free, but the base model is all you need. I bought a bunch of add-ons and I don’t use any of them.

Appreciate the info! Any tips/tricks on designing or things you wish you would’ve done different?

The best way to get familiar with the program is to use it. It’s a little clunky at first but once you get the hang of all the functions it’s fun. I’ve designed stuff from a single bend shock hoops to an entire tubular vehicle frame on it.

did you get a bender? If so this program is essential.

Nice, I wasn't sure if the base model would allow that, so that's good to know! My buddy that helped me switch out my tpms's has a tube bender, "finger break", a pretty large (4'x8' I think) cnc machine, welder etc.. We help each other out in different ways and he's been nice enough to let me use his shop.

    YAY!! The MULE conquers all!
I was thinking the same thing...sounds like we'll load up on cameras, drones, etc. and capture the joy of it being "much less intimidating when you can see the terrain"
    But is it really???

We should probably throw a few radios in as well. I would have brought my truck back had I know it was such a struggle last time.

We do need to remember to get some pictures next time! The camera always makes terrain less intimidating.

I accept full responsibility for leading us into a mess completely unprepared.

but it was kinda fun that way

I think we can all share some responsibility for that one. It was fun, especially from the shot gun seat!

Dude, I almost 100% have in my pants pockets:
    • Pocket Knife
    • Flashlight
    • Chapstick
So not only did I not have any of those items on me, I didn't even have my phone or radio...all were cozy in the truck. Again, that said, it was fun and a good learning and use of equipment exercise (and stretching the legs!).
