Does anyone on here have a HC bumper similar to Warfab with a hitch that uses the 1up Super Duty single bike rack? I’m wondering if there’s any chance the tailgate won’t hit the rack when it’s in the down position?

First bike with internal routing, should the rear brake line be on the opposite side? The rear shifter is. Seems like it's pretty sharp angle

Yes! That turn is too abrupt. It’ll be much better if you route it to the other side of your headtube

    not enough.
100% yes. The rule of thumb is from the handlebar mount to the opposite side of the headtube. :)

Got a nice little ride in this afternoon! I scored perfect weather and basically had the trail to myself.

It’s a pretty basic beginner trail, with a few challenging sections and a nice little technical climb that I can’t quite pull off (yet). For a noob like me, it’s a perfect way to get into things and enjoy some great scenery, which is a big part of what I’m going for with this.

I’m so glad I just went with a tailgate pad. It’s so dead simple to use I don’t even feel stressed about not having to pony up for a baller status 1UP rack. Besides, it’s a nice excuse to take the truck out, which is never a bad thing!

Hell yes, it does. Really started to feel it in my 40s. Random injuries, usually not from doing anything "cool," just linger and linger. I think I've had some sort of issue for the last 3 years, pretty much non-stop. One thing gets better, another gets worse, and the cycle continues.
Staying active and doing Yoga has helped me a ton, but life is busy and finding the time is not easy.

Yes, it does. But you can't stop and you can't stop it! (see what I did there :D:broccoli: )

Keep going, just need to learn that "edge" better. Don't think of being cautious as whimping out. You can be thoroughly active without doing some mega jump without knowing the other side. In fact, it's stupid and no one really wants to see a (63 me) old guy trying to prove some stupid shit. NO ONE.

OK enough from me. Mg supplement at night. Drink water and pee a lot. :anonymous::bucket::crapstorm:

I’m going to be 65 in a few weeks and for the most part I feel better than since I was in my early twenties. And mountain biking is mostly what does it; I hike and walk for errands, but don’t do any other exercise. I am not fast and keep at least one wheel on the ground most of the time but try to ride a few times a week. And if I don’t, my wife or friends drag me out on the trails; having that support network is great. Also, I’m lucky to live within riding distance of great singletrack, and have the time and means to take multiple biking road trips every year. My year-to-date Strava is showing 69 rides, 986 miles and 92K feet.

The issue I had with a tailgate pad on my first gen was that the bottom of the lowers on the fork of the bike would hit my bumper and rub on the fork and damage it.
I have basically the same bumper as you, but the All-pro version so it has a small kickout step on the back. Which probably doesn't help. Having a 180mm travel fork doesn't help either. but still.
The beds on the 1st gens are just so damn shallow.

Does anyone know if Oneup does and holiday/black friday deals?
Looking to pickup a dropper post from them, but thought I should maybe wait until the holidays to see if some savings can be had.

Yeah, the beds are shallow, for sure. My lowers were nearly hitting the top tube on that TG bumper too, but that was because I didn’t have my knock block centered correctly. Once I fixed that, the tire was still resting on the pad, but the fork was further from the bumper, if that makes sense. It makes the down tube ride up on the pad a bit further, but it’s still solid with a bungee from the rear rim to the front corner.

It’s a small price to pay for the privilege of rolling in a Best Gen, but then again you already know that!

ETA: I <think> my Coastal HC rear won’t stick out as much or go up as far as that TG, but it’s been sitting on my parts shelf for at least six months now…

For One UP racks being on sale you’re better off looking for a CC that does a PayPal offer for 5% cash back or something, that’s about it..

He's asking about Oneup the component brand. No sales on their sites, occasionally on others. Honestly, with the pent up demand and lack of inventory on parts, most people's current mantra is "if it's in stock, get it."

Yea I shot them an email and they basically said the same thing with how difficult it's been to keep things in stock and all.

Ah so the knock block must be helping you in this case.
The turning radius on the knock block on my 2019 slash was so bad. Basically made it impossible to put it on the tailgate without having other bikes on there to help support it.

I'll be curious on if it works any better with the coastal bumper.
Haven't seen many other bumpers that stick out any less than the TG one

Yeah, it was only ‘helping’ because it wasn’t centered well and I had the bars turned the direction that allowed me to really snug the bike down on the pad. With it centered, it won’t be as stable, but I’m hoping it’s good enough. Part of me just wants to get rid of the KB and get as much turning radius as I can get, especially since there’s frame protection for fork strikes. But being a noob, I’ll leave it for a minute.

And I’ll let you know on the Coastal rear. Check back in another six months :D
