Hehe, well I thought Tahuya was pretty tame but I went full stupid on Saturday and was going way too fast. So much water on the trail, I didn't see a stump sticking out and nailed my passenger side wheel, which ended up at an unnatural angle. I had to get towed, still waiting on what the final damage is going to be.

 

Tahuya is deceptively challenging.

There has been lots of carnage there...

Hehe, yeah. I asked the tow truck driver "Did you have any trouble finding the place?", his reply: "No way, I pick up here all the time"

I still need to take the Jeep out there for a mud bath.

 

Spindle. it's the only thing that will allow the tire to rub on the spindle. Someone had a pair for sale in the pnw for $150. I would suggest buying them and doing gussets

 

That's what I thought, man I was talking about doing spindle gussets on Saturday as on my list of to-dos.

 

I considered buying the set posted and doing gussets instead of pulling mine off to do them but you need them more than I do.

 

Here they are, probably worth grabbing the lca's just in case yours is bent also.

Yeah, surprisingly the wheel didn't look like it took any damage. I did get a pretty sizable chunk of wood stuck between the wheel and bead, it was leaking a little air.

Spindle gets my vote as well. It's a known weak point.

 

Sounds like an expensive little trip. I'll be using that as my "test" run, so i'll trailer it up incase my shit breaks haha

 

I got a few good videos of @longhairedhippy before the damage. It was the first time either of us had attempted the West Loop and it was a blast.

Ugh, i have 300 more miles to go to break in these gears before I can go into 4 low and wheel again...

If you need some guessets glued on your next set of spindles, let me know
I just have some Total Chaos ones on my spindles, but I'd definitely reccomend the Jd Fab or Dirt King guessets.
