Can anyone weigh in on the smallest lift possible with the stage 2 FCP kit and stock curb weight? Assuming performance springs, rear leaf removal and adjustment under 9"? I will ultimately add too much weight, but I'm trying harder than ever to contain myself and I've replaced too many CV's on my 99. Is 2" lift within reach?

Also, if anyone does go to the new shop, please post photos of their sliders. They say they only fit DCLB but they look awfully short. Thanks!

I would think there would be no issue running those at stock or near stock height. Mine are at about 2.5” right not and the cv fins are not rubbing. I see no reason I could not have adjusted it down more. There are a lot of threads left for adjustment on there. Your best bet is probably to call or do the live chat with them.

With the ~2:1 motion ratio of our IFS you'd only have to adjust the collars and spring seat down 1/4" on the shock body to drop that 1/2" at the tire. A 2" lift seems more than attainable as long as everything physically clears.

Thanks guys; makes perfect sense to me too. Mostly I wonder about the UCA's though. If there's a height where they make alignments easier due to the change in geometry, then there must be a low limit where they make alignment more difficult than the stock UCA's. Looks like just the kit I'm looking for and I'll try to report back in 6 months when I get it installed :)

If you’re not going that high, you don’t really need the UCA. They are mainly to get a better alignment when the trucks lifted. But if your just getting the whole package I understand that lol. Good luck!

I love spending all the money I "save" doing my own installs on tools... muhahah.

After weeks of watching install videos this is everything I've "saved" for my upcoming foamcell pro & ECGS bearing install. :bananadance:

Sadly it seems my Ironman shipping date has been pushed back almost a month and a half from when I originally expected it to ship due to the shenanigans at the ports... which double sucks because I actually requested some time off work this month to do the install. Le sigh. Here's to patience building character and all that. :playball:

    Yay tools!!

What's the new ship date? I just emailed them last week, but they glossed over the shipping question and only answered my question about spring specs lol. Is it now later than the posted Nov 22nd date on the website?

@hyrule_trd @ohcaltexscar do you guys think I should go with the 720# spring instead of the ~820#? Adam at IM said the 720# is spec'd for the 3" lift (I'm doing 2.5"), but that I could swap for it if I wanted.

Not a bad plan to have everything you need! Don’t forget a friend to lend a hand if you can get one. It’ll make things much easier (if they are mechanically inclined)

I would go with the 720#. I want to change mine out from the 827 to the 720. I’m not sure if there is a reason the FCP are paired with the higher springs or these are an average across the different platforms but most spring options for the Tacoma are 600,650 and 700. I’m not sure who offers 750. 650 and higher are normally used when you’ve got extra weight like bumper/winch/skids. The ride with the 827 and E rated tires is not bad, but going over some bumps it can feel like a dump truck, depending on the speed. Don’t get me wrong, I’d still choose this lift but just lower spring rates. If I could figure an easy way to put 650# springs on I would, just to see how it is. With that, I would be doing the work (hopefully) and only would wast my own time.
I feel like the ride could be better/smoother/softer, if that makes sense. Lastly, I’d still prefer it how it is now than with the dips and rolls of the stock suspension.

My original "expected in stock" date was Oct 15. As of last Friday they're now "hoping" for three more weeks :(

I would do the 720lbs springs too, if you’re worried about the height you can adjust the spring seat down a quarter inch to counteract that extra half inch of lift.

Absolutely go with the lower spring rate. I regret going the HD route every time I get in my truck.

I feel ya bud. My original expected date was Sept. 22 when I ordered at the end of August. We're still better off than the couple of ppl here who said they've been waiting on theirs since April and June, so count your blessings!

I just heard that these FCP shocks don't do well in cold temps. Any experience with this?

Not that I heard. I’ve been in single digit temps last year and don’t remember having any issues. Driving in snow and all too.
I will add the mine is garage temp so starting in there might have nulled the time it would take to get really low. Then during the day at work the truck would be outside and still no issues or additional stiffness.

Thanks for this heads up! I emailed them to verify and am waiting to hear back. I'm picking up from their warehouse so I want to be 100% sure they're there before I spend 3hrs driving to Portland. A little weird b/c I never got an email from them about my order being ready o_O

That is kind of odd. Maybe the just made it look like they had stuff for the grand opening.

Kind of annoying if they were selling kits off the shelf to random walkins for some grand opening when some of us have been waiting months.

I know shit is a mess at the ports right now but that's just not cool if the case.

I thiiink that instagram post went up after the grand opening so probably unrelated? But yeah it's be shitty if that was the case.

I just got confirmation from Adam at Ironman that kits are in, being assembled, and prepped to pick up/ship! Sounds like they don't email about orders until they are ready so if you haven't heard, it's likely coming real soon. My kit (2.5" Performance Load front/back) and the 3" front springs have been confirmed as in stock. Can't speak to any other components.
