Oh even better. For some reason I was under the impression I needed to tear into the blower then valve covers to access them.

perfect. thanks man. I'll order that today.

I'm a huge fan of having multiple scanners to have more access to data. HPT is a godsend but it's not the end all- be all either. I have been duped by a scanner before only to find that another works properly and is reading the data as it should and even displaying parameters the other wasn't capable of or did not display. This'll be a good tool for you in the future. if misfires can be ruled out then that narrows it further down to the VVTs.

You have cleaned your TB as well semi recently right?

I'm definitely ok with it especially if I can rule out another potential cause.

I did this weekend actually. Plugs and cleaned the MAF, TB, and filter.

Oh okay, perfect, and your MAF is ruled out as well right, no vacuum leaks?

Not that I know of. Seals fine.. seems to anyways. No noticeable cracks or wear on the gasket. I'll check that tho too.

Can't we just hold the VSC button down for like 3 seconds while stopped and it's disabled for that session (until ignition is turned off)?
Cool. Sounds like @XPOTRPR already has a kill switch to disable this stuff, but in case you others don't know…

BUT... no shit... turning my ABS Killswitch on (killing everything) completely, 100% without a doubt, solved it. That's what it's been this whole time... damn traction control/ABS. @DocME @12TRDTacoma @Torspd

got a couple videos on the way home to prove it.. then drove around toggling between the 2 and I could get it to do it and not do it.. every time.. in every scenario. Sonofa...

I had the Christmastree lights on for a while and thought the traction control was off. I might run out there and unplug it at the master cylinder and see what's up. It would be really great if we could adjust the sensitivity and torque settings for the VSC. I know the risks, but damn the hesitation is down right dangerous at points.

I think I’m gonna get some ruthenium plugs and try them out. See how they like meth.

Excuse the shit video quality. Just left work and my phone is always oily from my damn hands. Captured the issue I've been having pretty good.. but didn't get as long of a video of it after the ABS Killswitch was toggled (everything off). I tested throughout the drive home toggling the switch and got it to repeat both off and on.

This is how the truck sits now.. pretty heavy and rolls (no sway bar). Does it on turns, Straights, Digs, Rolls, etc.. Doesn't matter. Did it before and after 35s too. I've recalibrated the VSC a couple times throughout the years.

Too rich? Throw a smaller pulley on it and see if it helps. Also looks like ur boost is all over the place when it happens. Belt slipping?

    Awesome!

At the track, we used to give @Lucario Runner 's 4Runner a gas cap CEL, or remove the ABS plug ,to get similar results. Never made the connection til now though.

Might need to move that toggle to a little easier access position for those unplanned... merges.

What a damn trip @XPOTRPR !! Great call on the Trac program @DocME

You know I wonder if these issues you guys are having has to do with the fact you guys run larger tires and it messes with the Trac/abs sensitivity inputs just enough to cause that hesitation. I run a setup similar to you guys (modded suspension all that fun junk) but I've never had that issue. I'm starting to wonder if the tire size plays more of a factor into the traction control program to the point where that is the issue for a good handful of you having the hesitation issues.

This is actually a really good data point for the thread.

I never would have thought to correlate the two... But that's why I'm not good at this stuff. lol

It did do it prior to 35's.. but, that (tire weight) paired with just the extra added weight/rolling mass in general.. maybe?

I need to get going on the HP Tuner.. then finally see how the truck is doing. Other than some fine tuning.. its about all finished up and better than ever currently, now even more so with this stupid issue sorted. finally.. I;ve been chasing little shit like this for feels like years. lol
