    This is currently the top rated pumpkin beer on Beer Advocate. Rated 94 (Outstanding), and it really deserves it. It's made right here in Houston, so of course it's good. 12.5 % ABV. Deep, malty, sweet, spicy. The bourbon barrel aging is perfect for a pumpkin beer. I wish I had a good cigar to go with it.

    I haven't seen New Belgium in this area in a while. Maybe because they've changed their labeling and I've been overlooking it. How is this one?

    I enjoyed it. I love Amarillo hops, so that could've had something to do with it.

    You're making me realize that I need to learn to discern the difference between various kinds of hops. I know that I prefer those that have a more citrus or floral quality to them. How would you describe Amarillo hops?

    Amarillo is similar to Cascade and Centennial, but more intense. Floral and tropical with lots of citrus, some lemon and grapefruit, but heavy on the orange. I just know that whenever I have a brew that features Amarillo, I tend to really enjoy it. Same with Mosaic.

    My AHA membership expired and normally I used to renew it every year at GABF and get my free hat. This year they are offering a choice of 2 books. Does anyone have either and would recommend one over the other?
