My wife and I got our Moderna boosters yesterday. She has some arm soreness but no noticeable side effects for me. It was pretty much the same for the first two shots. Lucky.

On another note, I ordered a Leer topper for my 2019 TRD Sport in Calvary Blue about 9 weeks ago with a 6-8 week delivery estimate. I called last week and was told Leer was waiting on windows, handles, and other parts. The supply chain fiasco strikes again! No estimate on delivery at this time. I need it by spring for a trip to Michigan. I'm hoping that's enough time

HUMMM, they just reported that they concluded that the sub incident in the South China Sea was that it hit an uncharted ridge. One of ours did that when I was active, and several years ago another one did it also, beginning to wonder if it's just a way to explain away something the public doesn't need to know about! ????????

Travir, until you name the sub, the date, and location of the incident, that could be just one more (sigh) conspiracy theory.

Good morning everyone!! Contractors showed up to start replacing the bridge on our road. Dropped one piece of plastic pipe that will be part of the stream diversion, put the signs across blocking the road, had a cup of coffee standing and talking....and left for the day. Closing the road that way only adds about a mile to our trips anywhere so it's no big issue.

We have dead ash trees all over the area here, too. We've got quite a few on the property - no one seems to want them around here.

Nice work on the garage, Greg!! And, I hope you have luck on finding the fireplace/installer!! Guess it's time for me to check out our fireplace for the upcoming season.

Emerald Ash Borer spread has been quick. Believed to have entered the US in shipping pallets from china off loaded into Detroit, which does not make sense because the adults live on the trees leaves and the larva feeds on the nutrient rich tree layer right under the bark. The main reason for spread if through firewood bought in an infested area and taken to another area to be burned.

I could go on but I value my participation on this forum.

Good Morning Porch People~! Todays word is foam boards. Well, that's two words, but that's it. Didn't get that far yesterday. Built the second rack, went to swap out the two, and accidentally fixed the original. So two empty racks. But got offers of free trees, so I ordered an EGo chain saw!
Part of the slow down was that I forgot I needed to insulate the top East gable with something translucent. So, bubble wrap again. That thin plastic and duct tape are wonderful when they touch each other!

The shelves, no. But I do need a step ladder minimum to work anything on the roof now!

I've got Ego equipment, love the stuff. There customer service is outstanding as well. I had a problem with the variable speed controll on my mower, I just wanted to buy a part to fix it and I called them to see if there was a parts schematic. Instead they just shipped me a brand new mower since there was no servicing dealer near me. And they told me to keep the old mower!
That's great customer service! Imo.

 

Ooh! I hope to never need them, but that's great to hear. When this very reliable gas mower goes, replacement will of theirs. theirs.

 

I've had this mower for almost 5 years, first problem I ever had with it and it's a minor one. I've never ever used the bag, it mulches better than any mower I've ever had, it grinds up leaves and all. I ran snappers and toros for years but this is far superior. Super light weight, no noise, no maintenance, and the handle folds up and I store it standing up in the garage so it takes up very little floor space. If this mower died today I'd buy another one. I have their backpack blowers too, next will be their edger and string trimmer combo.
Now for the bad.
Eventually you will replace the battery, it's no different than any cordless tool. I went with the aftermarket through Amazon for mine as it was about $100 cheaper and it works fine. Save your receipts and register it, I didn't. But the battery is warrantied for 5 years as well as the mower.

 

So we had a great time vacationing in Reno, even if our team lost. Just to get out of the house felt great, the rock fever was starting to wear me out. I did not win in the casino, but broke even, which to me is a win. Interesting note for those of you who bet on football: Myself & 3 of my friends partnered up on some parlay sheets. We each bet $10 on a 4 pick parlay sheet, putting in one for college & one for pros, and both hit! $120 profit for each sheet. Then we went to go celebrate at a bar where we all ended up playing poker machines, which resulted in all of us drinking for free, and even making a few bucks.

If any of you ever go to Reno, I highly recommend the Peppermill Hotel, they really took good care of the big group of Hawaiians in the house. I was standing watching friends play blackjack, and the pit boss came over to me and says "Hawaii?" I asked him how he knew, which was a stupid question since we stand out. He replied "rubbah slippahs" Yeah, I go casual.

K-129 was a Russian sub, I read an article and saw no mention of a failed missile launch that caused it to sink. If it was launching a first strike nuclear missile all H*** would have broke loose, there would have been nuclear warheads raining on Russia from our boomers, land based ICBM's, and other means, MAD---MUTUALLY ASSURED DESTRUCTION, I doubt that the Russians would have rolled the dice on that.
I think our subs do the same, they don't know where they are going on patrol until they are out to sea, then the sealed orders are opened and they head to their designated area, that way none of the crew can give out any info. regarding their general area of operation.
I enjoyed the part where they "TIED" the officer of the watch in a wetsuit and a fur coat to a sub on the surface as a lookout in the search for K-129 because of rough seas, only the Russians!!!!!

 

Yeah, it was a Russian sub that went rogue. That's why the Russians didn't know where it was. The missile launch went bad and sunk the sub, so no reason to retaliate because no one saw a launch. We found it first and raised it. The official story was far different at the time. The CIA was telling the world that the Glomar Explorer was looking for some kind of (magnesium, manganese?) nodules.

The whole thing might have been the inspiration for the Tom Clancy book, Hunt for Red October.

While I was based in Holy loch, one of our boomers hit an uncharted undersea ridge, I witnessed the sub being put into the USS Los Alamos (AFDB-7), a floating dry dock, and when they raised it there was quite a large hole in the lower bow. I knew which sub it was at the time, and read an article about it several years later that stated it had collided with a Russian sub which caused it to hit the ocean floor. It definitely hit the seafloor because there were some rocks in the hole. The article said it was a certain sub, IT WASN'T, it was another one of our subs, that's another lesson about don't believe everything you read. Bet if any of the guys on the named sub read that article they were surprised to learn that they had run into an undersea mountain and had sustained damage!!!!
