Thank you that cable is one of the last I need! Did you have the camera in your mirror, maybe thats the difference?

I would have liked to do an anytime Backup camera kit like @parel posted but I only wanted the rear camera and the harnesses were sold out so...

I chopped off the stock plug and spliced into it with a RCA plug (there was a video in this thread on how to do it).

Then used a relay according to this diagram I found somewhere (on TW most likely) and saved.

They are glorious for winter as is the remote start!

Heated mirrors are nice too. All crap that a winter used taco should come stock with in my opinion.

I have an AutoStart AS-2382TWU (discontinued) that was already installed by the previous owner when I bought my truck. It's worked well but the remotes are falling apart as are the remotes for my wife's car (different brand). Seems like auto start remotes are made to be disposable.

I believe you are manual trans? Much more limiting for systems available as far as I know.

I have the 12 Volt Solutions remote starter and it works amazing. Great range and was easy to install. Id recommend them over and over again.

Anyone know if there are two camera inputs? I'd like to use a camera for the front.

There's a whole sequence with it but you have to be comfortable with the truck being parked in neutral with the parking brake on (Calgary's flat so not a concern for myself but you may differ).

When shutting down the truck there's a whole sequence. Have truck in neutral, engage parking brake, press button on remote until dash lights flash, then remove key and leave truck. Use remote to lock doors and truck will stop running and is ready for remote start.

Yes the only question is do you root it or not?! A full android unit in your dash is awesome.

Would rooting the head unit give it a bit more functionality? I’m thinking Netflix and other apps

I just saw the one from factory but maybe there is a way to pin out a second. Just email them your exact year and radio.

After lots of trial and error I finally was able to optimize my OEM MIC audio satisfactorily using the follow circuit I found online (not mine). The 50K potentiometer I ended turning to about 47k. For the 1:1 audio transformer I used an NTE-1.

I was able to have a conversation with only adding 5v to the powered mic and patching the audio over but after adding the caps and resistors to get it dialed it sounds WAY better. I’m not sure how different the various systems in Tacoma’s are but my solution I found was for a 2013 sienna.

So mine finally arrived and just installed it. Turns on but touch screen isn't working and no sound. I assume the sound maybe cause I don't have it on tuner but the touch screen isn't working. Any ideas?

Try unplugging and plugging it in again at the both ends of the ribbon cable that connects to the screen.

Got it, had to paperclip reset it and now it works. So far love it, haven't figured out how to get android auto to pick up but watching YouTube on it is pretty slick.
